Poroshenko: Agreements achieved with the UAE will allow increasing the defense capacity of the Ukrainian army. PHOTOS

President Petro Poroshenko calls his working visit to the United Arab Emirates successful stressing the importance of contracts signed by the Ukrainian enterprises in the course of the IDEX-2015.

"Unfortunately, the security level in the world is being decreased, that is why the popularity of IDEX is growing," the president has emphasized.
The Head of State has also examined the Ukrainian stand at the exhibition, which represents the products of the leading Ukrainian defense-industrial enterprises, namely State Corporate Group "Ukrspecexport", State Enterprise "Ukroboronservice", State Enterprise "Kyiv Armored Plant", State Enterprise "Research and Design Center of Shipbuilding" and State Enterprise "Experimental Design Bureau of General Aviation", Design Bureau "Antonov".
The Ukrainian exhibition includes full-size samples of armored vehicles "Dozor" and BTR-3E1, various types of anti-tank missiles ("Stugna" and "Combat"), anti-tank missile complex "Skif", guided artillery shell "Kvitnyk", cannon ZTM-2, radar locator "Delta", mockup of corvette "Hayduk", artillery boat "Gyurza", floating docks, mockups of planes "Antonov", armored vehicles "Bars", tanks BM "Oplot" and BTR-4, radar locator "Kolchuga-M".
"Important negotiations have been held during the IDEX-2015. Ukrainian enterprises-producers have signed several important contracts for tens of millions of dollars that will help us attract foreign currency in the country and, at the same time, provide us with necessary resources for the increase of opportunities of the Ukrainian army, acceleration of its modernization and involvement of the best producers in ensuring the defense strategy," the president informed.
In the presence of the Head of State, Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko has signed a document on military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. "It will significantly simplify and set out norms for our military-technical cooperation," Petro Poroshenko said.
The Head of State has reminded that the first military products, particularly armored vehicles, had been received from the UAE and helped reinforce the Ukrainian army. "We have significantly broadened the nomenclature of our cooperation. We have agreed and determined the terms of supply of the necessary defense means for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I am confident that today's visit was very successful," Petro Poroshenko said.
The agreement has been achieved that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates would make a visit to Ukraine shortly.

According to the president, the parties have also discussed the issue of financial assistance from the UAE, the establishment of an investment fund that would simplify the UAE's investment in Ukraine and the issue of cooperation in banking sphere.
