Impressed by this guy - also calm and good manner of speaking. One of the Army chaps on NDTV saiid they had written few months ago to all pol parties about their problems, only BJP rep bothered to reply. Clearly, they have pipped Congress and others here. Do hope BJP does well in 2014 - Congress again or ragtag Fronts will not be good.

    @Virendra
Today saw an ad from govt of rajasthan wrt opening of some power plant or something like that. Rahul gandhi being the main guest. But what stuck me was that ad also said that in past 5 years state has seen 100% increase in power capacity. If so, then thats a good development.

Living in NCR, I'm unfortunately unable to get the regular and closest account to the truth on ground zero.
But from other's experiences, it seems the urban areas have had better power supply lately, compared to previous years.
It is hard to call Gehlot Govt. a total failure. But if it has been a success enough for the people to vote back, is yet to be seen.
One bit is certain, that the way of functioning of Vasundhara Govt. and Gehlot Govt. have been completely different.
Their focus areas, policies .. almost everything. Both have excelled in some areas and failed in some.
Does Gehlot's good work please the voters more or of Vasundhara's?
Does Gehlot's failures pinch them more or of Vasundhara's?
Those two questions will test the ballot and be answered soon.

^^^^ This should set an interesting batttle in bengaluru south seat after a long time. Last time in 99 elections ananthkumar barely scraped through against BK Hariprasad(congress, currently chattisgarh in charge if am not wrong). Though nilekani maybe household name in this outright middle class area, the most urbanised seat in karnataka, i would still say as of now its advantage bjp, though it depends how nilekani manages congress network in city. If congress decides to go for all out war only then they have chance. But an intersting battle for sure.

It's really unfortunate that person like Nandan Nilekani joining hands with CONgress

I am an ex-infosys employee and I had lost respect on him when he had quit Infy for UIDAI project on an invitation from MMS. Now I presume, why UIDAI is yet another SCAM ?

Even after that, few folks still admire Nandan Nilekani, However, he would lose his remaining respect and credibility if at all he contests through CONgress ticket.

SANE citizens would never going to vote for Nandan Nilekani, at least I won't.

Just a hypothesis at present but don't be surprised if Sachin Tendulkar's name also emerges in near future in a similar way.

You never get charge of a project as big as UIDAI, unless you're already more than friends with Congress. "Active" politics was only a matter of time.

All the "good guys" are soon going to be fronted by Congress. Tendulkar, SRK, Nilekani, Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth (?), K. Radhakrishnan, etc. With footing lost on real issues, Congress' last card is going to be taking voters to wonderland by that all-star league.

It's a great time to be a social scientist in India. Will 1.25 billion people manage to see through a huge ball of bull$hit the size of Jupiter?

Onion prices are high because Sharad Pawar and co., are running an export-import loop.
    • Export our onions at an inflated price (the actual stock never leaves JNPT),
    • Import it at higher price than export (simply haul those onions back from JNPT, tell the press that we imported them from other countries)
    • Sell them at a high price, wash some black-money for yourself and your friends in the process, earn your 4%
    • ???
    • Profit!

Nandan Nilkeni might contest on congress ticket from South Banglore. Ananth Kumar is 5 time sitting MP there. BJP Is trying to field Anil Kumble from that seat.

Nilkeni might be projected as RaGa's MMS...

    In a surprise move,

Narendra modi visited Keshubhai Patel on his birthday (i.e. NaMo's birthday) to take his blessings. He 'asked' his son Bharat Patel for BJP. If Bharat Patel joins BJP again, it would mean More Leuva Patel Votes for BJP. Bharat Patel resigned from BJP along with his father. but he didnt get involved with GPP as he does not get along with Gordhan Jhazafia. This is considered to be a move to keep Vitthal Radadia in check..

Karnataka minister, staff jump into lake, save 6 from sinking car: At a time when politicians are a vilified lot, a 61-year-old Karnataka minister on Tuesday became a hero on Tuesday morning by jumping into a cold lake along with his guards and saving a family of six trapped in a sinking car.

Primary and secondary education minister Kimmane Ratnakar was travelling in his official Innova to Bangalore from his native town of Thirthahalli when he spotted the sinking car and ordered his convoy to stop. Read

BJP strategy for Delhi is to form a post-poll alliance with AAP, concede CM and top portfolios to Kejriwal and his pals. Hence no CM candidate projected.
