In order to pictorially and spec wise further document this thread, here are the five large AOR vessels currently serving in the PLAN with their specs, pennant numbers, names, and a couple of pictures of each:

I particularly like the pics of them doing UNREP, and particularly of 885 and 887 doing so with the new, modern PLAN vessels. The best of which is the one above with 885 with a Type 071 LPD, a Type 052C DDG, and a Type 054A FFG all at one time in that pic. Says a lot about the developing PLAN capability. I believe that this is the mark of a true blue water navy, the ability to supply your warships far from home waters, extending their war-fighting capability.
