Ecuador Communication Balloons
In this Oct. 2009 photo released by Ecuador’s Air Force on Oct. 30, 2009, a balloon flies as part of a project called High Altitude Platform over a village in the high lands near Ambato, Ecuador. Ecuador plans to use balloons instead of satellites to provide phone, broadcast and Internet service to rural areas.
