There are few things they missed out..

1. MI-17V1/5 comes with Radar
2. MI-17V1/5 can mount FLIR pods

This is a MI-17V1 with Radar..

Kunal sir please add 20 mm Cannon on this, might be good design at it will add the flair system, which is now made by TATA nova with laser pod for CLGM.

Sir,
These MI-17V1/5 carry Gun/cannon pods instead of Chin mounted turrets for Gun/cannons, And these are some deadly attachments..

gsh-23l gun pod

GUV-8700 gun pod

Its use as a gunship is good in CT area where we have terrorist hideouts in Jungle and Mountain caves just like Rudra..
As they are not dedicated Gunships hence cannot be called as gunships but still offer same firepower as a Gunship..
They can use CLGM Even HELINA if allowed to modified..

Flair pod will increase its night Ops, Specially on patrols near LOC

sorry for lack of knowledge ,IAF preferred USA's Apache to Russia's 'Night Hunter', so where does this purchase came from as a armed helicopter category.
what is the difference between these and Mi-17 V5
The Apache is a dedicated all weather attack copter. The Mi-17v5 is primarily a transport copter but it is also well armed.

I meant the total number of Mi-17s operational/ordered till now. The number you mentioned is a follow on order.
Presently excluding MI-17V5

Number Procured: 93+
........................53 Ordered in Feb 86 (47 to IAF , 6 to Ministry of Home Affairs)
........................40 Mi-17-1Vs ordered in May 2000

Mi17v5:
India is likely to go in for 59 more Mi-17s, after the first 80 have been inducted by around 2014

93 + 80 +59 = 232 In future..

Mi-17V5 is replacing Mi-17IV so tick those off the total.
