Washington: The Pentagon has appreciated the Indian assistance effort in Afghanistan and hoped that it would continue to do so in the future.
The US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta during his New Delhi trip this year "expressed gratitude for India's willingness to support a future and stable Afghanistan going forward," the Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said yesterday.
"It's my understanding that India has provided some assistance to Afghanistan, in the form of training and other facilities, and we would welcome that effort in thefuture," Little said.

This is good but not enough. They should and must do something concrete in return. Mere words are futile.

India had asked Obama earlier to allow Indian troops in Afghanistan, I still don't understand
why Obama refused it most likely would have been under the UN flag?? It was beneficial to all
Afghans,USA,Indians except Pakistan.
