Slovakia has been opposed to accepting more refugees under the EU system

The Slovakian Prime Minister has claimed his country is “monitoring every Muslim” in the wake of the attacks in the French capital on Friday.

Roberto Fico, 51, who is running for re-election in March, said recent events in France served to underline fears about accepting refugees and Muslim communities’ integration into European communities.

Multiple attacks across Paris on Friday night saw 129 people killed and more than 300 injured, with many of those remaining in critical condition.

“We are monitoring every Muslim in our territory,” Mr Fico said after observing a minute’s silence outside his country’s French embassy. “We have increased monitoring of a refugee camp and detainment camps, as well as monitoring of far-right extremists."

Earlier that day the PM had claimed “virtually every time there has been a terrorist attack [in Europe] representatives of the Muslims were responsible”.

“Therefore if we have these people staying in Slovakia legally it's our duty to verify whether they have contacts with problematic persons," Mr Fico told Reuters.

Slovakia has been opposed to EU efforts to implement quotas on the number of refugees accepted by each nation with elected officials claiming they will only accept Christian refugees.

In October, Mr Fico claimed: “We don’t have any mosques in Slovakia so how can Muslims be integrated if they are not going to like it here?”

“Muslims would not be accepted because they would not feel at home,” he told the BBC.

Pure political posturing. Refugee settlement in the US is a federal issue, these governors have no actual power to deny these people if the President allows them in.

Though I agree that US should not take in 'refugees' from such countries. If these Republican governors don't want these people, their party needs to win the White House.

What if a muslim converts to xtianity, would s/he be accepted.
In any case, it is Slovakia's wish if they want to accept refugees or not.

And these places in Eastern Europe have very few muslims anyway.

But one has to wonder why the US was promoting Islam to Czech school kids (neighbour of slovakia, agian very few muslims)

I don't know whether you are following news comment pages and YouTube comments. What I see is that Putin is widely popular all over the world, even amongst Americans. Many people are directly blaming the US for creating ISIS. Looks like the more the western MSM demonize him, the more popular he gets.

Speaking of balls!! Russians were already bombing ISIS, they should have had some intelligence about ISIS trying to hit them hard. But they still let them shoot down their own plane.

Its hard enough to have actionable Intel in one's own country, looking at the French intel failure at Paris, only proves that intel is all about finding something actionable, as is the case in France they had enough intel to raid 140+ locations 'after' the attack. Perhaps the French need to look inward and revise some of their techniques instead on focusing on Russian balls.

Valid point. For us Hindus, our culture is the religion. If any one from Muslim community follows this culture then he is a Hindu.

Indeed, culture in India among Hindus, Christians, Muslims, and other religious communities is 99% stable and quite peaceful. If anything Govt. should find ways to have less barriers, equal opportunities, get rid of archaic special reservations for different groups. India is the same beautiful Idea that has nurtured for greats like Kalam Ji or Tessy Thomas, Sam Bahadur etc and will continue to do so always.
