LoL.

Pakistan wants a pandemic and it's ready for millions of paki to die. They must have already made arrangements for elite class and I suspect none of paki general, ministers have coronavirus as reported in press. It's just a tool to garner sympathy and send message "look we are infected too" hiding mismanagement of decades.

Paki always had stomach for millions of fellow countrymen death as we know in 1971. They will be culling their own citizens for loan waivers. Who will ask for repayments when 5-10 million die in pakiland?

Pakistan's dilapidated health system bent double with COVID-19 scare
With healthcare facilities stretched thin, doctors ask people to self-isolate to stop the virus from spreading.
Zofeen T. EbrahimUpdated 38 minutes ago
After Pakistan joined the countries with coronavirus deaths, it is becoming increasingly clear that self-isolation and distancing is the only way to keep the virus at bay.

"Your healthcare system is not equipped to support you," pronounced overworked and sleep-deprived Dr Shobha Luxmi, an infectious diseases specialist at Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi (DUHS).

"And if the system does not support its own staff, do you think it will support you?" she asked and then in the same breath added: "Take charge of your health; stay at home and keep your children at home!"

But then Pakistan's healthcare system was never designed, even on paper, for emergency response preparedness. "Our hospitals are not planned for it, people are not trained, isolation facilities are not there and there is no contingency plan. The system is as old as 1947 and we never thought to revise or improve it," Dr Luxmi said, not mincing any words.

The private hospitals are no better, she said. "Those are merely commercial organisations."

"We are not prepared for this type of public health emergency and we will never be prepared if our health expenditure remains static at 3%," points out Dr Ahsan Jamil, deputy general manager, clinical affairs, medical directorate at The Indus Health Network.

"The ground realities clearly indicate that our capacities are restricted and something on a war footing is needed as a desperate measure," he adds.

The data statewise tells us a few things.
Sindh aka karachi is affected.
So, is Balochistan.

This means some migration from Iran definitly happened on the Porous border. Pakistani media is quietly blaming shias for spike in cases. They dont say Shia, but use 'Irani influx' .

If people are in karachi, surely spread is higher. Is Pakistan hiding the real numbers? Luckily our closed borders keep us safe.

But, which indians are studying in pakistan? Khalistanis ? How did this happen?

Iran has been left completely isolated now. No wonder in few days after their Foreign minister gave gyan, their PM spoke to our PM.

What was the result? Nobody knows. We dont squeeze people in trouble. Not our style.. But Iran did hurt us last month.

Anyhow, we need to keep the videos of quarrantine camps stored. And , it should reach every phone in Kashmir Valley. How, they treat people?

Squalid Taftan quarantine camps present a sorry state of affairs

Hundreds of Pakistanis who returned home from a pilgrimage to Iran, were stuck in filthy coronavirus quarantine camps with limited medical care, and feared squalid conditions were helping spread the disease.

Speaking to AFP, former and current residents of Taftan camp on the border with Iran said the facility lacked running water or flushable toilets, with pilgrims only able to wash every few days.

On Wednesday, the Balochistan government sent 1,652 people, who had returned from Iran, to their respective provinces after their stay in quarantine for 14 days at Taftan. Of them, 1,230 belonged to Punjab, 232 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 190 to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

A day prior, around 700 pilgrims belonging to Sindh had returned home on 18 buses.

A Dawn report published yesterday had revealed around 2,000 more pilgrims and traders remain in quarantine in Taftan and near Quetta, awaiting the end of their 14-day quarantine period before being allowed to continue their onward journey. Of these, 550 are being kept in Mian Ghundi, a picturesque village about 20 kilometres southwest of Quetta.

Government figures show that a bulk of the country's confirmed cases of novel coronavirus were detected in people who went on pilgrimages to Iran — one of the countries hardest-hit by the disease.

Pakistan shares a 960 kilometre border with Iran, with the main crossing point at Taftan in Balochistan province.

“I have been using the same mask for over seven days now,” one quarantined pilgrim at Taftan, who asked not to be named, had said in a phone interview on Tuesday.

“If I didn't have the virus when I first got here, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I have it now.”

Iran has been scrambling to contain COVID-19 since authorities announced the first two deaths last month.

The Taftan border has been closed since March 16, but thousands of Pakistan pilgrims who were visiting religious sites in Iran have been allowed to return subject to two weeks' quarantine.

They are then also expected to undergo a further two weeks quarantine in their home towns.

Taftan was built years ago specifically as a resting station for returning pilgrims, but has been overwhelmed by the crush caused by the virus.

Videos circulating on social media showed people sleeping on floors and in corridors of permanent structures, and packed into tents erected in a dirty courtyard.

No attempt has been made to separate sick pilgrims from the healthy.

'Worse than animals'
Witnesses said people confined there staged protests this week to demand better conditions, while others just fled.

Security forces had to fire warning shots to bring things under control.

Ishtiaq Hussain, a university student from Tehran, was one of those who walked out of Taftan. He was never tested for coronavirus.

He said people were treated “worse than animals”, often being given “spoilt food” and left in “freezing camps with very few blankets”.

Taftan Assistant Commissioner Najeed Qambrani said the camp's remote location made it difficult to provide amenities.

“We are providing all the possible facilities,” he said.

But Naimat Ali Khaki, who had stayed at the quarantine, said conditions were unacceptable.

“There was no cleanliness and it was so overcrowded that we were literally walking over each other,” Khaki said.

He was still waiting for results of a coronavirus test.

On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said officials were "catering, facilitating, helping, accommodating, medically assisting and securing" all the pilgrims at Taftan,

In a tweet, the CM said: "Would ask all province reps please think 10 times before saying Taftan. Did you send a single person to see your own people or send assistance?"

Experts wary of facilities in South Asia
As the number of coronavirus cases in South Asia ramps up, experts fear unsanitary testing and quarantine centres could present a problem in the densely-populated region.

Authorities in the region have struggled to get travellers to self-isolate or stay quarantined in medical facilities that many view as poor and unhygienic.

Public health experts say poor facilities in the region could speed up the spread of the virus, and authorities should encourage people who test positive to quarantine themselves at home.

Coronavirus in Pakistan and Imran’s viewpoint.

Now Pakistan has joined the ranks of countries who would do next to nothing to fight the coronavirus. It is their priority as he said himself to let people die instead of taking measures to prevent its spread. Earlier he had refused to evacuate Pakistani students from Wuhan. He quoted Quran to justify his actions. Now he is going against the world’s wisdom to take steps to prevent its spread. Again it was his fool of a representative during SARRAC meet who preferred to talk about human rights than measures to be taken to prevent coronavirus spread.

My opinion is that he has not said anything of his own. It is the ISI/Army agenda to stay focussed on Kashmir than the welfare of his own people who make up the Army. Small measures like shutting down large gathering or airports etc. will go a long way to prevent its spread. Italy took it easy and suffered consequences of its easy way out. I am glad that India has shutdown all borders with Pakistan.

Now, instead of doing what is essential, he has taken his begging bowl out and started to ask for loan forgiveness from the rest of the world. I would say he is not only stupid but also an opportunist that he will make use of all opportunities to beg for money so that heavy debt burden is reduced and he starts buying guns all over again.

Its consequences - God forbid, coronavirus will spread like wild fire in Pakistan. I hope it spreads into the ISI and the Army and then into Imran’s advisors also. That will knock some sense into him.

Coronavirus: Pakistan may face initial economic loss of Rs1.3tr
Listen

ISLAMABAD: In the wake of outbreak of Coronavirus, Pakistan’s initial economic losses in different sectors of the country’s economy have been estimated at Rs1.3 trillion. These losses are going to be incurred on account of drop in the GDP growth because of reduction in services sector, including airline business and others, FBR’s revenue loss, massive decline in imports, exports, reduction in remittances, disruption in food supplies and other fronts.

However, the preliminary assessment of losses done by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and shared with Pakistani authorities stood at $5 billion but Pakistan’s top official argued that these estimates were less than the expected actual losses because there was no basis for it.

“Work is under progress and the exact losses going to be faced by the national economy because of eruption of this virus will be firmed up by next week,” a top official of the PTI government disclosed to The News after attending three important meetings, including Ministerial Committee constituted by PM Imran Khan, a high-powered meeting of different ministries and provinces and a meeting with international donors here at the P Block Auditorium on Thursday.

The Planning Commission estimated that the size of the country’s GDP stood at Rs44 trillion and one/fourth stood at Rs11 trillion, so the disruption caused by Coronavirus was expected to cause at least 10 percent losses in the last quarter (April-June) that would stand at Rs1.1 trillion at least.

The FBR official said during the meeting that the tax machinery initially estimated that the lockdown of Karachi was going to cause major revenue losses and they were assessing that if it persisted till June 2020, then the tax losses would go up to Rs380 billion. The FBR has already been facing massive revenue shortfall before the virus despite slashing down the FBR’s annual target from Rs5.555 trillion to Rs5.238 trillion. Earlier, the FBR had also requested the IMF for allowing further reduction in its envisaged target from Rs5.238 trillion to Rs4.8 trillion. Now the FBR is assessing further reduction in achieving the target by Rs380 billion, so it is estimating collection of just Rs4.4 trillion till June 2020.

The World Bank (WB) high-ups said during the meeting that they undertook an initial survey from March 12 to 18, 2020 from a sample of export-oriented industries and found that export orders were disrupted in the range of 25 to 50 percent.

Federal secretary commerce said during the meeting that the exports might face loss in the range of $2 to $4 billion as export orders had got canceled. An interesting situation surfaced as the Ministry of Commerce gave estimates of disruption of both imports and exports but the representative of Maritime Ministry claimed that there was no disruption in the shipping industry so far. The imports would be reduced in the shape of declined POL prices as well as in quantity. Pakistan imported 80 billion barrels of POL products and keeping in view the lowest-ever prices in international market in the last two decades, the import bill would shrink having negative impact for the FBR’s collection and Petroleum Levy might also be reduced if the consumption decreased because of possible lockdown in different parts of the country.

The meeting deliberated upon the worst effects that would have to be borne by the dailywagers as 47 percent workforce in service sector such as marriage halls, hotel industry and others belonged to this sector. The meeting recommended to the government to increase the allocation of Ehsaas program and ensure utilization of allocated funds. The meeting also decided that the local works development schemes would be initiated both through the federal and provincial governments. The utilization of Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) might slow down, so it could be diverted into small schemes through SDGs Accelerated Program. On the issue of possible decrease in remittances, the joint chief economic adviser of Finance Ministry told the meeting that possible impact on remittances would be known tomorrow (Friday) as they were still making assessment to this effect.

According to an official statement issued by the Planning Commission on Thursday, a special inter-ministerial and inter-provincial meeting for assessing the impact of Corona pandemic on Pakistan’s economy was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Planning Commission (DCPC) Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan here at Islamabad on Thursday. The DCPC, Jahanzeb Khan, remarked that the government was assessing the socio-economic impact of Coronavirus on the national economy with the aim to undertake timely interventions to safeguard the economy against the impending effects of coronavirus.

The Planning Commission would make all efforts to combat and will actively coordinate for necessary emergency funding from both the local and international sources to ward off any negative impacts of coronavirus on livelihoods, jobs, especially the industry. Representatives from the Planning Commission, various ministries and provinces, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) participated to assess the expected impact on the national and provincial economies.

Representative from the Ministry of Commerce, while briefing the participants on the likely impacts of Coronavirus on the national economy, said that due to the closure of major port operations and retailers globally, reduced global demand was likely to lead to a reduced global economic growth. Officials from the Maritime Affairs informed efforts are being made to ensure uninterrupted port operations for continued supply of essential commodities. Officials from the National Food Security informed that Pakistan will not face any food shortages as the country has sufficient stocks of essential items to meet the immediate needs. They showed their commitment to ensure the smooth operation of transport and logistics services to keep commodity prices stable. Federal Director General Health informed that over 1 million people have been screened so far. The Health Services Academy is currently working on modeling a projection of the estimated extent of the spread of virus in collaboration with international experts. Member Social Sector Dr Shabnum Sarfraz highlighted the need to augment the human resources which is at the forefront of fighting the epidemic. She urged the ministry to engage the medical and nursing students to add to the capacity of the current health staff.

DCPC Jahanzeb Khan asked the ministries to provide comprehensive assessment reports on economic impacts of Corona pandemic on various sectors of national economy to devise timely government interventions to safeguard jobs and livelihoods of vulnerable sections of society. The Planning Commission would present this before the National Security Council (NSC). He further remarked that the government is keeping a close eye on the situation and will consider providing an economic emergency bailout to address the likely short to medium term liquidity crunch.

Citizens lament ill-preparedness of Punjab govt to combat coronavirus
by Staff Report , (Last Updated 11 hours ago)

LAHORE: Amid tall claims of its preparedness to combat the new coronavirus, the Punjab government has been receiving criticism on a daily basis for what its detractors have called its “ill-preparedness” to fight the pandemic that has killed over 10,000 people worldwide.

In Pakistan, the number of confirmed cases currently stands at 453 with three reported deaths. Observers believe that the scale of response is nowhere near the magnitude of the challenge that has been thrown by COVID-19. Young Doctors Association (YDA), which has attracted social media uproar over its alleged unwillingness to tackle the pandemic, has been decrying a lack of relevant medical equipment including mandatory safety kits for days now.

In a rather ironic incident a day earlier, a private media house quoted Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar as asking “how does this corona bite?” during a briefing on the disease.

The ill-equipped Punjab Health Department has also put the citizenry in trouble. In one such incident, a Lahore-based fashion designer, Ana Ali, has shared her experience at two main government-owned health facilities.

In a series of tweets posted late Thursday night, Ana said that her “daughter came back from [the] UK unaware that she had contracted virus.”

“However,” Ana said, “as soon as she landed and we saw some symptoms, the first thing she did was self-isolate herself and get tested.” Upon her arrival, Dania tested for coronavirus from a private laboratory which came back positive, she added.

“After my daughter tested positive for the virus,” Ana said, “the laboratory immediately informed the Punjab Health Department.” “The health department [officials] showed up at our house and we fully corporated with them and took her [first] to Ganga Ram [hospital] and then PKLI [Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute].

However, Ana claimed that both the facilities were out of medical equipment necessary to combat the virus.

“At PKLI, instead of providing treatment to Dania, they sent her back home, saying you seem more educated on coronavirus than us so you would be doing fine taking care of yourself at home,” she said.

“However, hours after Dania was sent back, the hospital administration called us back, saying they have arranged the required equipment so send your daughter back. I did as asked. But this time was no different than the previous incident,” Ana lamented.

“They did not provide the required proteins and vitamins to my daughter which was much-needed since the virus attacks the immune system of its victim. She asked for a blanket which has not been provided as of yet. Her room is filled with mosquitos but there is no mosquito killer installed in the room.”

“She is very much disturbed there and her health is deteriorating.”

Ana also lamented the social media rumors pertaining to her daughter allegedly escaping the screening check at the airport.

“In the meantime, rumors were spread all over social media that my daughter wanted to avoid medical treatment,” Ana said.

“Fake rumors were spread all over social media that she wanted to hide out? Why would she do that? Why wouldn’t she want to get treated? I clearly don’t understand why people are so insensitive.”

“We’re going through tremendous shock & pain after all this.”

In the concluding tweet, Ana said: “We’d like to keep our privacy intact. If nothing more, then just pray that we get out of this horrible situation. We’re all in it together. Today it’s my family, tomorrow it could be yours. This is a global emergency. Let’s be [wiser] and God-fearing.

So I am Muslim who criticizes Islam and Mohammad? Great observation!

This is why India will remain a weak nation. A superpower does what it wants there no morals involved. USSR deliberately purged tens of Millions so did China. Captain Murica destroys hostile nations the way it wants.

India can never produce a stalin, mao or bush. Hence it will remain weak.
India cant produce megalomaniacal genocidal dictators that murder their own people en masse? I'll be proud of that..

other civilization couldnt produce a shivaji, bose or sardar patel...

With the above analysis articles in the News and the Pakistan Today, it is clear that Pakistan woke up late for the coronavirus danger and when they woke up they put their faith in their Almighty that it will spare them and strike others (kafirs). Well it turned out to be too much of a faith. They have been struck as badly as others, may be a bit more.

We still do not know that their policy is to take out the begging bowl and ask for money or still continue faith in the Almighty. With death toll mounting all faiths have been laid to rest. There is only one way to stop the spread and that is isolation and quarantine. Additional speedy testing will remove the affected people and save the others. That still is not coming to their mind. Imran khan wished to save the livelihood as opposed to life. He probably is following the same policy and is hoping forgiveness of previous loans as opposed to money to speedily buy testing equipment and getting on with the tests, better. He is dead wrong here.

Pakistani public is in grave danger of sickness and possible death and Imran Khan at the Army’s advice is unmindful.

Situation across the border in India is directly the opposite where human life has been put above the livelihood. Public curfew or shutdown is in progress. Public is being urged to follow all possible precautions and testing has been enlarged. Not only that isolation space has been increased a hundred fold. It all tells that prepare for the worst and hope that the God will extend its grace and prevent its spread.

Hence two contrasting policies.........

Seems like Corona has shifted it's gear in Terroristan. It's now 666. That's the actual number Terroristan SIX.
This might be defining moment in the history of Terrositan, it might even break. First they were suffering because of Selected Gov, with very poor decision making leadership. Now, Corona will break it's economic backbone. Terroristani people don't even have daily essentials, and after Corona if they have to lock-down then Terroristanis would be on roads against imposed gov.

However, we've to be careful. We've to take all measures & precautions.

Pakistan coronavirus camp: ‘No facilities, no humanity’

It was the smell that was the worst. In this dusty camp on Pakistan’s border with Iran, which at one stage held more than 6,000 people, the stench of sweat, rubbish and human excrement hung in the air. There was no real housing, just five people to a ragged tent, and no bathrooms, towels or blankets.

The camp, in the town of Taftan in Balochistan province, was supposed to function as a sanitary quarantine location, preventing the spread of the coronavirus from Iran, which has had one of the worst outbreaks globally.

Instead, according to Mohammed Bakir, who was held there for two weeks, it was no more than “a prison … the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my life”.

“These were the hardest days and nights of my life,” said Bakir. “We were treated like animals. There were no facilities but also no humanity and everything was in disarray. They were not prepared; there was nothing for us to sleep in except some dilapidated tents.”
