Pakistani labourers attack Bangladeshis in UAE over cultural issues

Bangladeshi workers were stabbed in a camp near the construction site of the giant Arabtec on Tuesday night.

The initial scuffle was reported in the dining area, but it soon spread to other sections. "The fighting spread to accommodation, where gangs of Pakistanis went looking for Bangladeshi workers," one witness told the newspaper.

Forty people were taken to hospital and 25 arrested after the fight at that the Saadiyat Construction Village.

Arabtec's Head of Group Corporate Communications, Ashraf Zeitoon, said the fight was sparked by 'intercultural issues'. "It snowballed from a squabble between two workers and soon tens and tens got involved. Nobody was seriously injured but 40 are in hospital."

"The fighting is said to have been sparked by name-calling in the dining area and a dispute between two men over a room key. That sparked the brawl and both sides called for reinforcements,' the newspaper said. Police helicopters hovered over the site on Wednesday morning, while Arabtec officials, police response teams and security guards rushed in and out.

Zeitoon said: "We have now separated the Pakistani and Bangladeshi living quarters.The company is working to improve relations between the nationalities. The problems Pakistanis and Bangladeshis have with each other go way beyond the borders of the UAE."

South Asians should just take over the Arabian peninsula. They already make the vast majority in some of those countries.

A valid question. That guy is a young man, a student who was brought up Pakistan and you can see how he has been mentally indoctrinated with stuff like "Pakistan is a state of mind" and "Bangladeshi Muslims are like Indians, but Pakistanis are a separate race" The indoctrination started after 1973 and almost anyone below 40 has been indoctrinated.

There is a strong element of racism in the indoctrination. Of course no racist thinks he is being racist. Racists think they are normal and others inferior. So they are taught that Pakistan is a special mental state and a special breed of people genetically different from others and with a history of leadership. Young people will always believe this crap coming from people who feed you and care for you, so farhaan himself is not directly to blame for having racist exclusivist views. He will be taught the right lessons by life as he grows up.

But what always amazes me is how the Indian government and Wagah candlelight kissers fail to acknowledge the depth of indoctrination. It is OK if Pakis live in lala land. But Indians have a duty not to live in a separate cloud cuckooland of their own imagining that Pakis are normal. In separate public talks that I attended I put the question of why the GoI does not highlight and publicly protest/criticize the indoctrination in Pakistani education to former home secy Pillai and later to Shivshankar Menon. Both toed the government line (as they would) and refused to accept the need for India ro recognize and acknowledge that Pakis are being taught racist hate. It's OK if GoI has some secret game plan to screw Pakistan, but unless the GoI plays a role in highlighting the hate education of Pakistanis, Indians will only learn what Pakis are like by being kicked time and again. One of these talks (Pillai) was a couple of years after the Mumbai attacks and the parents of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan were sitting in the row behind me.

Do you mean the Arab masters unleashed Pakistani bloodhounds on dissenting Bangladeshis? Quite possible.. and easy to motivate these wannabe Arabs to act in the name of Islam or some other ruse.

Pakistanis don't consider it as being used, mate.

They love everything Arabic, Persian and Turkic and are proud to call themselves as descendants of these three groups.

A Pakistani knows more about Arab, Turkish and Persian history (post their adoption of Islam) than he knows about his land. Those who are still not convinced, can see my post on Pakistan's belief of IVC as the 'first monotheist religion on earth'.
