Pakistan's membership could be cancelled: IOC

KARACHI: International Olympic Committee (IOC) has warned that if the differences between the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the Pakistan government are not resolved, Pakistan's membership will be cancelled.

Spokesperson for the IOC Mark Adams said that due to the government's interference in the matters of POA, Pakistan's membership could get cancelled.

Mark Adams informed that representatives of POA and the government were invited to the IOC headquarters to resolve the differences but the government ignored it.

Shouldn't the topic say IOC instead of OIC (Organization of Islamic conference)

If Pakistan is suspended from OIC, they would go into a collective depression.

This is common procedure, happened to Nigeria and Kuwait in the past few years, I think.

Pakistan's team is crappy anyway, 20 years with a medal. Invest some of that nuke money in olympic sports ffs.

So long as politicians head the various Olympic Federations, it will be the same old story.

I just hope that the ban is not lifted till all politicians are out and real sportsmen are in.
