some other pipe lines are under construction.
ML1 is a railway line planned starting from Karachi to Peshawar
M9 is under construction M8 is also under construction they part of eastern and western alignment respectively

How far is it from Gujarat Border? Shall our glide bomb of SAAW reach this airfield if released from our planes?

Su-30 MKI can remain within our air space and release SAAW and these will easily destroy this porki airfield. But for preemptive strikes Brahmos are best, with no reaction time, lethal and accurate.

Close to border doesnt mean guarenteed destruction. We shld remember we have Jodhpur and Jaisalmer AF bases too. Close border bases are definitely more vulnerable. Role of SAMs bcomes more necessary and these will be heavily defended. Plus in case of hostilities these are the first lines of attack as response time is smallest.

Not sure what the idea behind building this airbase is. JF-17 is purely a point defence fighter at this time. In event of a conflict this base is likely to be targeted in the initial stages of the conflict, Rendering the fighters stationed here impotent. Unless of course you plan to somehow land, refuel and rearm in state and national highways.

Their Idea is simple.

The air base is just few miles away from hyderabad, Jumshero and N5-N55 exchange points. Which will be life line of Karachi. The other railway Line connecting Karachi to Peshawar is also there. More over in Kotri there are oil storage facilities and other heavy industries and part of CPEC. So movement of huge logistics is at stake.

They believe that India will try to cut Karachi by carrying out preemptive strike on these points. More over Indian incursion if takes place it would completely cut off Karachi from rest of the Pakistan if it reaches that far. And the only hope would be Pakistan Navy but, the navy also needs air support.

So in a whole nutshell the deployed F16 along with JF17s are going to play defensive role and strike role simultaneous.

Yes, that makes sense. But then what was defending these strategic points earlier ? I am now half expecting Pakistan to make a request for Long range and short range Air defence batteries from China..

They are only recently constructed in the last 3-4 years, most of it is a part of CPEC
