Pakistan airspace may be closed for US: Gilani

Closing air space for US now. Looks like the withdrawal of US forces from the base in Shamshi has emboldened the Pakis into thinking they have the US by the scruff of the neck. It is only racing towards being a nation "non grata" and inviting the US bombing it.

As if the US cares.

If the US did, then there would have been no shooting down of Osama bin Laden, where the radars were dysfunctional and the Pakistan military moribund.

Groper Gilli is in the habit of making empty statements for public consumption. Let us see the Pakis shoot down a US aircraft or drone first, then we will talk.

Intelligent think about logistics first and Americans are Intelligent. Pakistan could have done this before without any repercussions from Americans. Pakistan is /can win this situation to its favor and one shouldn't be surprised by it.

P.S I not talking about this Gilani rant but in principle.

There is one route of CAR but that all depends on diplomacy with Russia. As of now, Things are still fine but difficult to predict Russian stand in long run. If U.S. takes support of corrupt Azerbaijan and Georgia which not friendly with Russia, Then it would be better.

Yesterday a Russian official said "There are processes which are critically important for Russia – which are about Russia's national security,

If things don't work with CAR which is unlikely in near term, Then Beggars would get some more reward.

I think this is more for public consumption now.

There are still two airbases at Jacobabad and Khalid that are still being used by Americans. Maybe its time to clear out those as well before closing airspace for the US

I am wondering if it turns out to be true, then we might see JF17 in action i.e if they really dare and are serious about taking the US drones down(may turn out to be other way though). They wont be using F16's for sure.

US forces set fire to equipment before leaving Pakistan airbase

Indo-Asian News Service, Updated: December 12, 2011 12:10 IST

Islamabad: US personnel set fire to all their redundant equipment before vacating Pakistan's Shamsi airbase that had been used to launch drone attacks, an official said.

The US completed evacuation of the airbase on Sunday and Frontier Corps personnel promptly took over.

A security official told the daily Dawn that US forces had left virtually nothing there and they set all their redundant and useless equipment on fire before leaving.

Pakistan had set a Dec 11 deadline for the US to vacate the airbase after NATO helicopter gunships targeted two border posts in Mohmand Agency Nov 26, killing two dozen soldiers and sparking outrage in the country.

The US has been using the Shamsi airbase for nearly a decade for military operations in Afghanistan and drone strikes in Pakistan's mountainous tribal regions.

US troops started vacating the base last week and had removed the control system used for drone attacks in the first phase.

Lol, and the Pakis were all over the webspace for the past couple of days salivating over what they might get(and transfer to China) when they finally take control of the base. Guess they'll have to make do with ashes and pictures now.

will love to see it happen, but then as was sighted by two pakistani dailies, the leadership (mil and civil) is contemplating opening up of the supply lines, leave aside closing of airspace.

as has been sighted, this is more about public consumption, rambling as they do, but then pakistanis love all that drama, good for them, they will at least have one night's good sleep for a change!

if air is not the way for the american to enter then they will try from other ways. cia will try to infiltrate into PA and pakistani politics. trying to screw pakistan more economically. if pakistani machinery is more destroyed then with any small disaster foreign workers will be called in and some cia agents can surely enter pakistan in red cross uniform.
americna intervention will be be restricted but not halted. they will continue to play their due role but in different way.

a pro-china country wont be allowed to go unchecked in world by the us.
