Maulana Azad's predictions on the futility of creating a new nation by dividing it on the basis of religion is being borne out as a reality now.

However, Zulfiqar should have known that Jinnah never made the British majboor to create Pakistan, they were both working together to more or less the same goal. Infact, the British made Nehru, Gandhi and Azad to force them to accept the partition.

He did mention one thing correctly. Sindh of the only assembly were Muslim League was able to pass the 1940 resolution (It wasn't called the Pakistan resolution thought by Jinnah). Even in Sindh, it requires some Parsi and European members of the Sindh assembly to join the ML members to actually pass the resolution as they were not in majority. Other assemblies in NWFP, Punjab, Bengal never did pass this resolution. One of the facts which shows that there was never a strong grassroots base for a separate Pakistan even in Muslim majority provinces.

Even Sindhis who supported the Pakistan movement finally realised their mistake when they saw how the Pakistani elites usurped power and the way Pakistan became a vassel to western influence. Leaders like GM Syed were instrumental in putting forward the concept of Sindhdesh as a secular Muslim majority independant country on the lines of Bangladesh.
