It's just to fool the people of pakistan coz PPP govt is at its low. They just reverse the pertol prices just to nutralise the situation and now this statement. the bottom line is pakistan is in great pressure not only from inside but also from USA as they are not doing anything in north waziristan. but on longer run they will suffer as there economy is on verge of collapse. wat i can see is independent balouschistan. Insha Allah

'US has right to interfere in Pakistan's affairs'

The US has the right to interfere in Pakistan's economic and governance affairs as Washington provides funds to it, the American envoy here has asserted.

US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter said the US was the largest aid giver to Pakistan and, therefore, it has the right to interfere in economic and governance affairs, Geo News reported Saturday.

Addressing a ceremony here, the ambassador said the US made demands to Pakistan with respect and dignity, adding that the statement by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the issue of fuel prices was misquoted.

Clinton had said it was a 'mistake' for Islamabad to reverse the fuel price rises as the move undermined its efforts to bolster its ailing economy.

'We believe that the government of Pakistan must reform its economic laws and regulations, including those that affect fuel and its cost,' Clinton said.

Munter also sought to dispel the impression that the US was mounting pressure on Pakistan for launching military operation in North Waziristan.

Ouch... सपना खत्म हुआ नहीं कि सच्चाई ने पिछवाड़ा काट लिया... :D

Now what does Kayani, Gilani and Co have to say? All this bravado is for local consumption. Don't understand why do Westerners take such silly stuff so seriously.

I think the breakup of Pakistan is actually a long-term US geopolitical objective, and if you ask me that's the main reason why the Americans will stay in A'stan till 2014.

Pakistan also knows this, but are powerless against it, which explains the excessive begging/posturing towards China. China is really their only hope left, as they themselves are on the verge of a major civil war while at the same time being in the crossfire of two great powers (three if you include India).

It is not a comfortable situation for any country to be in.
Comfortable? LOL! They have all the hell literally broken loose over their heads. If we take the problems of African tribal wars and terrorism, South American drug problems, Russia's mafia and India's political evil and combine into one entity: it is called Pakistan today. Oh I forgot adding nuclear capability to the stew.

Tell you what.. the US has been pretty lenient in their funding as well as giving assistance to the Pakistanis. What do you think Chinese will give them even half the flexibility that US gives if they are to assist Pakistan entirely? Won't be surprised if they raise a Communist People's Party of Pakistan (CPPP) to monitor "autonomous republic" of Pakistan soon..:p
