PAK cannot end terrorism or close terror camps : Musharraf
Published March 15, 2013 | By admin

SOURCE: ZEE NEWS

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, who is currently living in exile in the UAE, has said that it is difficult to control terrorism and end terror camps operating in his country.

In an interview to a private TV news channel, former Pakistan President expressed concerns over the rise in militancy in Kashmir and linked it to the pullout of the US-led coalition forces from Afghanistan,

Musharraf, who had earlier announced that he would return to Pakistan later this month to take part in parliamentary elections, warned that consequences of US troops' pullout would be dangerous for both Pakistan and India.

When quizzed about his earlier commitment to the world that he would not allow Pakistani soil to be used for anti-India activities, he said that the situation is fast slipping from hands and it is growing increasingly difficult to control insurgency.

"It's a very difficult situation that we will face.. We are already facing. When this freedom struggle in Kashmir started in 1989, which you call insurgency of course, then there were multiple. There were dozens of Mujahideen groups which erupted inside Pakistan. Now these volunteers were massive. It was not that this is one organisation which is immediately controllable," Musharraf was quoted as saying.

Musharraf, 69, has been living in exile in Britain and the UAE since he resigned as the president in August 2008, fearing impeachment by Parliament.

He had earlier on a few occasions announced he would end his exile but postponed the plans over concerns at his possible arrest in connection with the 2007 assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The current National Assembly or lower house of Pakistani Parliament will be dissolved on completion of its five-year term and new elections will be held within two months.

The former army chief who seized power in a coup in 1999 had said he would face courts on return and did not care if there was a threat to his life.

In 2011, an anti-terrorism court issued an arrest warrant for Musharraf in connection with the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in a bomb blast. In October 2012, a court issued a warrant for his arrest over the killing of Baloch leader Akbar Bugti in a military operation in 2006.

Musharraf denies all charges and said he will defend himself in courts.

LIAR. But if he is saying th truth then it calls for a coalition of international forces to step into Pak and destroy such terror camps as Pak can't do it.
That action would be done ONLY if there is a major terrorist attack on US mainland or may be EU which is directly linked to Pakistan .

The West is not going to do anything since indirectly they want the "good terrorists" who dont terrorise them but "others".

India needs to take this thing seriously on itw OWN and think all the options... the best would be to force pakis taste their own medicine in 100 times bitter way... btw pakis are tasting it since almost 50,000 Pakis killed, daily drones,blasts,Shia-Sunni,Economy and power crisis...

The next 6 months are very important.

It is good that he is openly admitting more and more about insurgency and terror tentacles gripping themselves, a good reason for India to nuke them.

Musharraf should know best!!
In any case, there is substance in what he says about the post-Afghan pullout scenario. All mercenaries maintained by ISI in Afghanistan will have to be diverted somewhere else. ISI is wise enough not to take them back to Pakistan. Where else but Kashmir to unleash them?
I think ISI handlers have already started testing the waters... there can be more ahead. Only totally alert security forces can thwart them.

I think what he is saying is that India should invade Pakistan and close those terror camps for good.

At first they denied that they don't support terrorism, but they were caught red handed, now they don't help to crack it down, nor they let anyone to help it, Otoh they leave their pet terrorists to hunt others and call them "Mujahideen". This Pakistani attitude is proving to be disastrous for the world peace, they have become an irresponsible terror factory, but the problem is not in the Mujahideens or Jihadis the real problem lies behind their intolerant mindset of false Islamic victimhood and identity crisis of Pakistan which is not going to be solved anytime, as said "The loftier the building, the deeper must the foundation be laid." Pak is suffering the weak religious foundation of medieval times which has given rise to all of its problem.

I don't see Pakistan ending terrorism anytime in the future, as if it does it there will a great civil war in Pakistan, it can be compared to an alcoholic who can not abstain without being forced to do so and if forced he fights with himself, it will die but wont leave the terrorism as they have learned to justify each and every inhuman activity with screwed principles and spectacles of Islam, 60 years of low level blind religious education has weakened the human character of the Pakistanis to such a level that it has become impossible for them to recover from it. And in this situation if you bomb the training camps or kill the chief terror leaders & organizations, it will be of no use. Either you will have to change the foundation of Pakistan or you will have to break it down to create a new building with a solid foundation, but a Mullah inspired Islamic country won't let you change its foundations. So the only option which is viable, is to break the country in 3-4 parts and let them be busy in fighting with each other, this is the best way to save the world peace from Pakistan-originated Islamic terrorism, and the sooner you do it the better it is.

LIAR, No perpetual LIAR that he is, Mushy boy sometimes tells the truth like during Agra Summit he had said that the problems between India and Pakistan can not be resolved even if India hands over Kashmir valley to Pakistan !

Now he is again telling the truth that Jihadism has spread so much in Pakistani blood that it has become a problem for all including Pakistanies themselves.

One full generation of Pakistnies has gone waste in chanting the name of Kashmir - four wars for Kashmir and still more to come.
The present lots have got stuck in Afghanistan besides chanting the mantra of Kashmir and Balochistan.
What will Pakistan do with the exploding young population but to exhaust them on Jihad.

What will occupy the young Pakistani mind but their immidiate problems of water, scarcity, hunger, unemployment, bad economy and non acceptance abroad.

From all sides Pakistan has all the explosive material to continue to remain mired in insugencies of all sorts.
