Over 3,000 Return to Hindu Fold | | | The New Indian Express

SUNDARGARH: As many as 3,127 persons on Thursday returned to the Hindu fold in a 'home coming' ceremony of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held in Sundargarh town. VHP leader Pravin Togadia attending the ceremony.

Addressing a public meeting here, the VHP leader demanded enactment of a rigorous law with provision of capital punishment against those indulging in religious conversion by way of deceit or intimidation.Togadia said Hindu religion preaches tolerance and selfless service but religious conversion of gullible Hindus was creating social and religious divides.

Taking a dig at the black money stashed abroad, he said it was unfortunate that a sizeable poor population continued to starve and their children go without education. He appealed to everyone to donate Rs 10 to fight poverty.

Togadia also flayed the move for allowing sub-quota reservation for the Muslims. VHP sources said those who returned to the Hindu fold hailed from 100 villages across Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. They came in an impressive procession from the Bhojpur Kalyan Ashram to the venue and underwent religious purification.

Among others, VHP leaders Basant Rath and Jiban Mukudanand and Bajrang Dal president Subash Chouhan were present.
Good job VHP :thumb:

Good going...........

But we have to do lot of social work to bring our people who got converted and we need lot of money to do so, but money also is not a very big task, we have to get a GOOD LEADER ho can take forward and make it reach the people.

About time that gullible innocent tribal villagers were made to realize how they get paid to convert. Many of my fellow Buddhists especially in bordering areas of Arunachal Pradesh have this pressure of converting to Christianity by local pastors and missionaries who use different tactics to convert for money.

Unfortunately for them, they don't realize that faith is not about quantity or political loyalty but spiritual liberation. So their money-for-faith scheme doesn't get well along with us people.

we should unite our efforts mate. One way or the other, those rascal missionaries must be stopped. They convert gullible people who are liberal by mindset into their rigorous religion. Do you know how crazy the converted ones become, son like pentacostals stop drinking water from other houses..

Are you confused between China and India ?

So is the decision to ban burqa irked by the growth of Muslims and not any secularism ?

People....glass houses....no stones..:nono:

The growth of burqas is strictly immigration. The growth of house churches is strictly missionary work.

Bottom line is you are concerned (afraid) about them and doing everything in your capacity to stifle them - including the banning of their sense of identity.

And was the expulsion of the Romas also concerned about immigration ?

The Roma are Christians so religion has nothing to do with it. The burqa ban is all reaching even to Christian head-covering so it is a religious neutral law. You must have glass in order to break it. You are throwing stones at concrete.

Religious intolerance is just once facet of intolerance. You frenchies chased out the Romas because you thougt they were different from the common French even though they had lived in that land for many hundred years. Dont try to justify that shameful, atrocious, racist, degenerate move from the French Govt.

Coming to this topic, the missionaries convert some people and Hindu orgs reconvert them. Two can play the game. Stop concentrating on our internal affairs and clean your own house.

You can't play the game when it is former Hindus converting them. IIT grads run to the West and large numbers return to India as converted Christians. It is your own middle class and elites doing God's work. Not to mention converted Dalits hitting every village in the country. Foreign missionaries are only a supporting cast.

Clearing out illegal Roma ghettos and paying them a severance package to leave is far better than what goes on in India's slums to be cleared out for land development. Talk about glass houses...

The point about "IIT grads coming back as converted Christians" is the silliest thing I have heard in a long time.

If anything, the middle class white collar Indians in the West display right-wing tendencies. They usually become more right-wing after they go and settle in the West.

^^ The article is a vitriolic attack on Rajiv Malhotra. The book she was talking about is "Breaking India". It is a very good book on exploitation of India's ethnic fault lines , to create a civil war.

Tribal Rights & Culture Must be Protected

February 23rd, 2012, 6:54 pm

Sundergadh, Odisha; February 23, 2012: A glorious event of over Tribal 658 families, 3127 total people, 1513 men & 1614 women from 102 Tribal villages coming back to their ancestors' religious traditions giving up the forced Christianity. In a grand event organized by VHP in the jungles of Sundergadh in Odisha, there were festival like celebrations by 102 Tribal villages. The happy occasion was presided over by VHP International Working President Dr Pravin Togadia.

While thanking the 102 villages & all the Tribals who returned to their ancestors' religious traditions by choice & with joy, Dr Togadia said, "Tribals are the roots of Bharat. They are the custodians of our age old rich traditions & culture. We all must do everything to protect them & their rights. Govt has extended the reservations to Christians meant only for Hindu Tribals. Many Christians are already availing of the quota meant for the poor Tribals depriving the poor tribals of their right to education, jobs, loans, lands etc. This should immediately stop & all convert or any Christians should be immediately de-listed from the reservations meant for the Tribals. Those who convert to Christianity from Scheduled Castes are not given the benefits of SC reservations. Following the same pattern, the Tribals who convert to Christianity should be de-listed from the Tribal reservations."

"In 1975, there was a bill for amending the constitution to this regard was brought in by Shri Kartik Urav who himself was a Tribal from Odisha. 300 Member of Parliament had signed the bill agreeing that the Tribals who converted to Christianity should be de-listed from the reservations. The amendment was about to be passed but got shelved for unknown reasons. It should be brought back again & be passed immediately. "

Dr Togadia appealed to all to support activities that educate, empower & enable Tribals to prosper & come up in life while protecting their glorious traditions. VHP is already running over 40,000 schools, residential schools- colleges for tribal girls & boys in tribal areas all over Bharat & now many bright students studied there are doctors, top govt officers & successful scientists in Bharat & abroad.

VHP also has over 1000 medical facilities including hospitals, ambulances, blood banks & primary health care centres for Tribals in their own areas for quick medical help. There are Self Help centres & vocational guidance units where women & youth are groomed for the traded that are close to their life styles giving them better income & bright future
. Dr Togadia said, "Support from the world & from Bharat from those who care for the well-being of the Tribals in all fields will gain further momentum that will immensely benefit the Tribals & also dissuade them from looking at other religions as an option."
