This guy might be a butcher or something? How are they sure about the motives if the guy has not been caught in the act of doing something violent.

You might make a blind man see, but you will never get a person who does not want to see to see anything. Geopolitically China has invested so much in Pakistan that they are unwilling to admit the extent to which radicalism is spreading into China from crapistan. The Chinese lose face by admitting that so they are in denial.

It is good that a terrorist attack has been thwarted.

China must attack the root of the terrorist support or she will regret it.

Good luck to China.

If there is strict gun control, how is it that they have access to more lethal stuff like products that make horrifying bombs.

What is being done to stop that?

well, bomb is easier to get than guns ,because bombs can be made with fertilizer/gas and fertizers/gas are widely used. BTW,almost all bombs in terrorism
assaults in china are made by terrerist themselves. for example, during the assault 2days ago ,those thugs used gas~can as bomb

China is a no nonsense and efficient country.

They must quickly find who is funding and training these terrorists and take action against them be they local, or organisations supported by foreign countries,

Trouble in Xinjiang

An explosion ripped through a crowded marketplace in Xinjiang province, China, on Thursday at a time when the place was filled to the brim with innocent civilians. The attack resulted in some 30 people killed and close to 100 injured. It was a surprise attack even though Xinjiang is known as a troubled and restive region. Attacks in the past have comprised of strikes against government officials and the police, symbols of authority. However, Thursday's attack in a market place in the regional capital of Urumqi betrays the change in strategy, organisation and targeting of civilians instead of key power figures. Xinjiang is in the midst of the separatist struggle by Uighur separatists — Turkic Islamist militants — who refuse to accept that the province is a part of China. They are waging their war to exert their belief that Xinjiang is actually East Turkistan and not China. One does not have to stress that the Chinese authorities are not happy about the volatile situation in its territory. An attack against civilians no matter where is one that needs to be condemned at all levels, from the government down. However, as with the case of terrorism anywhere, it needs to be tackled in a way where a political solution and consensus is sought to address the grievances, real or perceived, of the Uighur people.
Pakistan of all places should know what the government in China is going through and the measures that need to be taken to quell the movement, which goes by the name of the East Turkestan Independence Movement (ETIM). During the Afghan war, Pakistan has unfortunately played host to militants of all Islamic hues and colours, violating our sovereignty and launching attacks on another country. There is no doubt that the conflict in Xinjiang has some roots in our tribal areas. It is of paramount importance that the government in Pakistan do something about the refuge given to militants in our tribal areas, especially when it comes to China, a country that has always stayed true to its relationship with Pakistan. China has remained an ally through thick and thin and we cannot afford to offend it by giving any kind of sanctuary to militants causing trouble in Xinjiang. Whether it is Afghanistan or China, we need to do a lot of troubleshooting to fix relations with our neighbouring countries.

There can be no greater an indictment as to where the problem comes from.

But China has it compulsions to let Chinese die for their national interest.

it is reported that terrorists' families/relatives often help terrorism assaut by fueling fund or hiding criminals.sometimes ,the whole families receive terrorism train. So ,it is widely discussed in chinese cyberspace wether china should draw a specail law to blacklist/monitor terrorists families/relatives and deprive them of property to compensate victims

pakistannion government is eager to cooperate CHINA,but it can not controll its country as firmly as CCP DOES CHINA. lts weak governance leaves huge vaccation for terrorism groups. So,both USA and china help pakistanion government to strengthen its rule, although both know it is a corrupted/incompete govermen.otherwise, the government might be down and the country would be taken over by Tliban or other terrorism groups

Local intelligence officials said foreign militants along with their families have taken refuge there in recent years, including Chechens, Uzbeks, Chinese, Turkmen, Tajiks and Uighurs.

One senior security official said the military was in particular targeting the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a separatist militant outfit blamed for numerous terror attacks in China's restive western region of Xinjiang.

He said the Chinese government had pressed Pakistan for taking action against the Uighur separatists based in North Waziristan. "The Chinese authorities had conveyed their message separately to the prime minister and the army chief; the issue had been raised even with the president when he was on an official visit to China," he added.
