I am so jealous of you all that speeds and the cost.

Here in Delhi I have 16Mbps from Airtel and for 50GB pay Rs 2100 per month.

This is like 2000 times faster than what i have now :why:
So cruel, please just die.
You still use a 512 Kbps connection? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

I have been using a 10 Mbps connection for more than 3 years now. 10 Mbps "unlimited" (50 GB bandwidth cap). And 10 Mbps means 10 Mbps - 24/7).

Really a lucky guy to get something I can only dream of :DD, it will take more than a decade (or probably more) for my city to get something like that :*(

What the ---- is this thing ? :whoa:
aren't CAT-6A UTP Cables expensive or you using FTTP ? :notsure:

This is what I can afford now and it's fine.
Why should I be ashamed of myself ? Because I don't need a faster broadband connection :pound:.

How much are you paying ? Which ISP ?
I pay around 1200 per month. I had ACT broadband in my old house, and I use BBNL (Bangalore Broadband Network Limited) now. Both of them have similar tariffs and speeds. They are cable-based connections and unfortunately, they are not available in all areas of Bangalore.

Thank you. That's much cheaper and you have good plan compared to mine. I have DoCoMo 3G Wireless Broadband, 7.2 Mbps, 10 GB download cap, I am paying 1400 RS/mnth.

One step away from gigabit Internet, 3 steps away from usable 3G service.

Ahh yes, Telecom Talk and their "investigative journalism" which I was banned from commenting on and refuting.

Never trust something published prior to a launch date (we launched in October 2011, article came out in July 2011 after a previous article in 2010 while we were still in the planning phase), especially when written by a guy who now works for Spectranet ;)

Incidentally, I had had discussions with Spectranets' COO, Nitin Mehrotra about Hayai and prospects when we were figuring out the basics, but I doubt it is related.

For what it's worth, in May I decided we should go past the Gigabit mark and are undertaking residential 10gbit/s trials in a couple of places around Mumbai (Malabar Hill, Shivaji Park, Goregaon and some region in Thane I think were the selected areas). They aren't installed yet, but when one or more are running, I'm pretty sure we'll be letting everyone know.

[I was alerted to this thread by one of my staff. This will most likely be my first and last post - for anything else, I'm often around on social media and blog semi-regularly. Mods/Admin can verify my identity by checking the email domain used to sign up to this forum].

#bharatnirman. I'm only one of the test-pilots to what will get into most households in the very near future. Of course those setups won't look this Frankenstein.

To us geeks its a work of art.

In toronto family pays, 60 after tax recently upped to 70 for 45/4 unlimited.

It is cheapest, another company came out with 150 & 250 unlimited last month but it is double price.

Before that the 45 was fastest especially for unlimited. We use 4-700gb a month but that is what my router says probably is accurate.

In Punjab village if I can get 3-4mbps with 1-2gb that is enough. Fiber will be nice, but will probably get fiber to home there before Canada anyway. :pound:

On the mainstream 3 carrier, it is like 100 for 60mb/10 with 120gb usage. :bounce:

Lol :india:

Cell in Canada is the real scam,

I pay 28 total for data talk text but it is on a garbage carrier with no coverage outside city or even in my basement, despite 'tower' being less than 1mile away. Outside coverage is ok, data speed ranges from 0.5-6dl 0.1-1ul normally 4/0.5 but unusable anywhere crowded.

For data talk text on one of big 3 national carrier, it is easily 60-80 per month per person. Wtf? The 4g speed is there, 30-85download but nobody uses their phone that much to be worth it.

In village 40rs 300mb 2g . :biggrin2:
