A series of blasts ripped through a restaurant in China's Shanxi province Wednesday night, killing one person and injuring over 150 others, officials said.

The incident took place in a two-storey building housing the restaurant in Shuozhou city, Xinhua reported.

Among the 156 injured, dozens are fire fighters who were at the scene when the final blast occurred.

Three fire-fighting trucks were damaged.

Witnesses said they heard the explosions around 9.20 p.m., and that they also smelled gas.

The cause of the blast was, however, not confirmed.

Sad incident. My guess is this would be an LPG gas cylinder blast or something. Just pure bad luck - happens all the time. I don't think this has anything to do with terrorism.
