This thread is mainly to cite statistics of the nember of Bomb blasts or terrorist events taking place in pakistan on a quarterly basis or annual basis . The idea being that we can track the seriousness or recovery of that nation according to a number , just like co-relating the temperature to the level of seriousness of a person's fever
(sickness). You may form your own categories eg terrorist event , large bomb blast ( eg more than 50 people killed ) minor blast ( less than 10 persons killed ) etc , Periodically i might summmarise the data you have provided in my own categories and others are also welcome to re-organise and re-categorise the date as they see it .

Just yesterday bomb blast in cafe in Peshawar killed 35.

Two blasts hit Peshawar market; 34 killed

PESHAWAR: Twin bomb blasts minutes apart ripped through a crowded supermarket complex killing 34 people and injuring more than 80 in Peshawar late Saturday.

The attack hit the Khyber Super Market area, which includes residential flats for students, shops, a fruit juices kiosk and a hotel.

A first explosion lured in onlookers and emergency services before a second more powerful blast, believed to be from a suicide strike, went off.

"At least 34 people were killed and more than 80 injured in the blasts,"senior local police official Ijaz Khan told AFP, saying the blasts were only four minutes apart.

Those killed included two journalists working for local English-language newspapers Pakistan Today and The News.

"The first blast was quite small but as people gathered close to the site of the explosion, the second one, which was real big one, went off," he said.

Another senior local police official, Kalam Khan, confirmed the death toll. There were no immediate claims of responsibility.

"The first blast was triggered by a timed device planted in the bathroom of the hotel while a suicide bomber riding a motorbike blew himself up near the hotel," bomb disposal chief Shafqat Malik told AFP.

"We have found head and some other body parts of the bomber from the attack site," Malik added.

Peshawar borders the tribal region and has been repeatedly hit by bombings over the past few years.

these taliban must either be very dumb or limited in their capabilities. majority of these blasts are in Peshawar and they are targetting their own tribal people when their anger really is at the head-honchos in Islamabad.

Since they cant penetrate Islamabad, they just kill locals randomly.

Curiosity asks, what is the justification behind compiling a list of the dead or to be dead in Pakistan?

hi there oracle - i dont know about "justification " but the idea was too keep track of the escalating violence or wherther indeed things are getting back to normal. I would not have started the thread if the numbers were somewhere else in the other thread but i admit i didnt search and assumed it wasnt there. I think the idea is justified albeit a bit morbid but then again the whole idea of war is too and this is a military forum in which, begging your pardon, unfortunately war and thus casualties is a part of too.

i do really think if someone has the figures and keeps updating them , we will be able to see a pattern. Dont know who is gonna do it though .

Hi there roma - things are not getting back to normal in Pakistan, unless civilian government is in control and the likes of ISI is dismantled, and PA made to tone down from state affairs and also from Pakistan's economy.

Pardon being a word gullible as the next drone strike in Pakistan, will keep on re-occurring.
