NTPC's profit down 10%
Despite a strong topline growth, NTPC posted a 10 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 2,130 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2011, down from the Rs 2,372 crore posted in the same quarter of the previous year.
Total income of NTPC surged 17 per cent to Rs 15,384 crore during the quarter from Rs 13,512 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. However, there is pressure on the bottomline due to higher interest and depreciation costs on account of new power capacity addition.
BHEL Q3 net moves up 2%
new delhi: State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Friday reported a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 1,432.6 crore for the quarter ended December 31 against Rs 1,403 crore for the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The total income was up 19 per cent at Rs 10,939 crore during the quarter under review as compared to Rs 9,176 crore last year, the company said in a regulatory filing. At the BSE, the shares of the company closed 2.84 per cent down at Rs 273.65.
BoI profit rises 9.6%
MUMBAI: Bank of India (BoI) has reported a 9.6 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 716.15 crore in the third quarter of current financial year against a net profit of Rs 653.16 crore in the same period last year amidst a rise in cost of deposits by one percentage point. Total income rose by 30.85 per cent to Rs 8,002.27 crore in the quarter ended December against Rs 6,115.76 crore reported in the same period last year.
"As the economy is likely to come back, the bank will be able to do better," Bank of India's CMD Alok Kumar Misra said.
NHPC net down 29%
New Delhi: State-run hydro power producer NHPC today reported 29 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 212 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 .
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 301 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Net sales of the company, however, grew 22 per cent to Rs 862 crore compared to Rs 709 crore in the same period last fiscal, NHPC said in a filing to BSE.
The company witnessed rise in its employee cost and other expenditure.
