The best course of action was for Mamata to acknowledge the strike and pass some law or somethin (idk about politics) pretty quick.
In that way everyone would be happy.
    Doctors would resume their work.
    Patients would be treated.
But no the only thing she can do is to cook up some BJP conspiracy and threaten the doctors with an ultimatum not acknowledging the necessity of security for doctors.

Correct me if I am wrong but these incidents of violence against doctors are mostly limited to govt hospitals right? Because I have been to max and Apollo and there no one seems like he can call a mob for rioting.

    Herd mentality
Usually very poor people get treatment from govt hospital, and congestion and lag time keeps the middle-class away. Now for poor people, entire community turns up for the admission process as the individual is very poor to bear the financial and logistical burden alone. So, mobs usualy form because of the socioeconomic background. Coulpe that with streched duty hours, lack of personal life and harrassment (from seniors and society alike), resident doctors snap back and are often rude. This makes for a dangerous mixture

It happened to a private hospital also in Hyderabad few months ago . Again no points for guessing the religion of the person..

Most private hospitals have private security and can also call for police protection if they sense trouble . Govt hospitals no one has clue who runs which department and whom to call in emergency . Especially the top management part is always pathetic . And the end sufferers are the poor junior doctors

My cousin did his MBBS from Chennai. Left to UK 15 years ago bloody he lives a super luxury life with half the stress a doctor in indian govt hospital would go through handling patients .

Not just herd mentality but Government doesn't give enough funds for basic needs like syringe and gloves. Understaffed and overcrowded patients see just the doctors not admitting them when actually the beds and under beds and corridors are already full. Patients first try Self medication then get kicked from private physician to private hospital to government hospital. As a result patient reaches late for treatment increasing complications.
Add the fact that these patients make a good vote bank local corporators and wanna be corporators then threaten doctor with consequences for inadequate infrastructure.
In Maharashtra last year an Orthopedic Surgeon was beaten up as he could not treat a patient with severe Head Injury which was a Neurological case and tried to refer to a Neurologist.

Was having a small whats app conversation with a friend in Kolkatta she is typical Uber elite educated who hates sanghi type . Who voted for commies in LS elections . Well she just texted those golden words " She must go Now and real fast" she said cant wait for 2021 and if president rule is declared she is happy ..If this continues for another few months i think even the Bhadralok bongs will also desert TMC completely and shift away ..

Hope BJP keeps the pressure up on her so that she does more mental breakdown dramas in open

The litmus test for the great poll strategist PK will come in helping TMC win 2021 elections with such anti incumbency and anger over Momota ..
