The situation has changed....If Assam goes islamic majority then more Indian army personnel will die....more wars and civil wars will follow -- that too all over the country !

Now the main point! Before you palm your face again!

As Indian army and Paras are under RM and Home ministry respectively -- Which directly/indirectly is controlled by PMO which in turn is controlled by minority infested NAC headed by Italian Antonia Maino! Therefore, at present we cannot expect Indian army to cleanse Assam off Islamic Bangladeshis!

Hence, the only line of defense are these people to lead the way! As reports are in the MULTA and other Islamic terrorist organizations are already armed to the teeth, so who will fight and protect Hindus/non-muslims? Secular Con-gress?

Northeast terror outfits moving to Myanmar: Assam Rifles

AGARTALA: Terrorist outfits of the northeastern region have shifted their bases to neighbouring Myanmar following crackdown by the Bangladesh security forces, an official of the paramilitary Assam Rifles said on Saturday.

"Several terrorist groups of the northeast India have been shifting their camps to Myanmar after the Bangladesh security forces continued their crackdown against them," Inspector General of Assam Rifles Satish Dua told reporters here.

"All the central and state security forces have been asked by the union home ministry to maintain a strict vigil about the movement of the militants in the northeastern region," he added.

Dua, who reached here Friday, met Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar and top officials of the central and state security forces to discuss strategies to curb militancy in the state.

He said that Tripura has successfully tamed the 45-year-old phenomenon of secessionist terrorism.

"Separatist outfits have been trying to strengthen their groups in Tripura. They are now trying to be pro-active ahead of the next year's assembly polls," he said.

"The security forces, including the central forces, are also getting ready to retaliate in a befitting way," he added.

Tripura's director general of police Sanjay Sinha said that the separatist outfits have been trying to strengthen their factions in Tripura ahead of the assembly polls early next year but security forces are ready to tackle them.

Tripura's two militant secessionist outfits - NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) and the ATTF (All Tripura Tiger Force), both banned by the Indian authorities - have set up bases in Bangladesh along with the outher outfits of the northeast region, and receive support from other separatist outfits of the northeast.

According to an official document, currently the number of NLFT cadres is 150 to 155, and the ATTF has 10 to 12 guerillas.

GNLA chief remanded to 14 days judicial custody
Correspondent
SHILLONG, Aug 26 – Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) chief Champion Sangma has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a local Court here today.
"The Court of Judicial Magistrate has remanded Sangma to 14 days' judicial custody since the defence counsel did not move the bail application," IC Jha, public prosecutor, said.

Champion has been under police custody for the past one month and was quizzed by sleuths from the intelligence department both from the Centre and State police.

The GNLA chief's counsel, Sujit Dey said his client would move bail soon. But till that happens, Champion would be lodged at a special cell at the Shillong district jail. All this while, Champion was under the custody of the Border Security Force.

After emerging from the Court, Champion was willing to talk to the waiting media persons. He could barely finish his statement on his willingness to hold talks with the Government and his health status, but was whisked off by the police.

His counsel, however, said that his client was exploring the legal procedures to hold talks with the Government and also wanted to apprise the media about the mandatory medical check ups that he was entitled under police custody.

The Investigation officer, K Prasad told the court of the first class judicial magistrate, KM Lyngdoh Nongbri that Champion's health was checked regularly by a BSF doctor, appointed by the State Government.

However, his other plea of providing newspapers was not entertained as Prasad said an accused is not provided with newspapers while under police custody. Meanwhile, besides Prasad, another investigation officer sought police custody of Sangma for the alleged crime he committed in the State, but the plea was not granted by the court.

The former Meghalaya Deputy Superintendent of Police, who floated the GNLA in 2009, has a number of cases registered against him in places like Williamnagar, Tura, Mendipathar (Garo Hills) and Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills.)

Bureaucratic indecision augmented Assam's sorrow, accepts MoD

In a shocking revelation of facts, the Ministry of Defence revealed on Monday that when Assam was burning due to ethnic violence last month, the bureaucrats sitting in South and North Blocks separated just by a road delayed the deployment of the Army by following archaic rules and doing cumbersome paper work.

Explaining the inordinate delay in deploying Army in riot-hit Assam when the toll was mounting, the State Government passed the buck to the Defence Ministry by merely sending a request by fax on July 21, which being a Saturday, the staff at the South Block completed its duty by asking for an "assessment report" from the Army, losing precious three days.

"State government of Assam requested the MoD through a fax on 21 July 2012 (Saturday) evening for deployment of Army in Kokrajhar. The MoD on learning of the request sought the assessment of the situation from the Army as they were already in deployment for counter-insurgency duties in Assam," Defence Minister AK Antony said in a written reply to the Parliament on Monday.

Even as the mandarins in the South Block were sitting on the request for deployment, 53 people were killed in Assam with maximum casualties and rioting happening between July 21 and 24.Despite repeated requisition from the local administration in Assam, the Army refused force deployment in absence of the Defence Ministry's approval, mandatory as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) laid down nearly two decades ago. The Defence Ministry also did not spring into action until the state government faxed a second request on July 24th for deployment of Army in aid to civil authorities in the districts of Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Chirang. This was also followed by a request from MHA.

"MHA on 24 July 2012 requested for deployment of Army. MoD issued directions for deployment of Army in aid to civil authorities on the same day," Antony added.

Sources reveal that there has been a complete laxity from all the stakeholders – the state government, the MoD and the MHA. "All the three failed miserably to assess the urgency of the situation. In the age of telecommunication the state government was busy sending faxes to the Defence Ministry even on a Saturday when the Ministry functions on a lean staff. The more proactive measure would have been the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Defence Minister being in touch with each other from the day one," sources in the armed forces said.

Eventually on July 25, the Army was deployed, and what ensued was the blame game between the State government and the Home Ministry in one camp and the Defence Ministry on the other.

Militants Groups of the North Eastern States

There are reports that Indian Insurgent Groups (IIGs) have been using Myanmar territory for safe sanctuary. Manipur based Meiti insurgent groups like People's Liberation Army (PLA), United National Liberation Front (UNLF), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK); Naga insurgent group like National Socialist Council of Nagaland/ Khaplang (NSCN/K) and United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) Anti-talk faction and National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) have their camps / hideouts in Myanmar Naga Hills (MNH).

The presence of IIGs in Myanmar has been the single most important security issue for India at every bilateral negotiations, i.e. National Level Meeting (NLM) at Home Secretary Level and Sectoral Level Meeting (SLM) at Joint Secretary Level held every year in pursuance of 1994 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Myanmar. Myanmar has always been assuring India that they will not allow their soil to be used by IIGs to carry out activities inimical to India. IIGs continue to use Myanmar territory notwithstanding Myanmar's repeated assurances not to allow its territory for activities inimical to India.

In the recently held NLM between India and Myanmar at Nay Pyi Taw (Myanmar) in January, 2012 and SLM held at Kolkata in June 2012, the issue of continued presence of IIG groups in Myanmar was raised again and it has been assured by Myanmar to co-operate closely to address the Indian concerns.

As a result of regular National Level and Sectoral Level Meetings and follow-up of deliberations of NLM and SLM, Myanmar authorities have shown willingness to act against these militant groups and have started some operations against IIGs in Myanmar in recent times.

This was stated by Shri Mullappally Ramachandran, Minister of State of Home Affairs in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

Army moves to seize illegal arms in Kokrajhar

GUWAHATI, Sept 2 (IANS): The army, deployed in Assam's troubled Kokrajhar district, has started an operation to seize all illegal arms and ammunition there, informed sources said Saturday.
"The army has started an operation in the district today (Saturday). The operation will continue till all the illegal arms and ammunition are seized in Kokrajhar," said a highly-placed source.

The sources indicated that similar operations might also be carried out in all the areas of Bodoland Territorial Areas Districts (BTAD) and in Dhubri.

Assam's opposition All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) had demanded that the central as well as the state governments take steps for seizure of all illegal arms and ammunition in BTAD for establishing lasting peace in the area where clashes between Bodos and Bengali-speaking Muslim settlers had led to 95 people being killed and over four lakh people displaced.

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal had also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and demanded that the BTC council be dissolved as it had failed to provide security to the non-Bodos living in BTAD and that all the illegal arms and ammunition be seized.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had earlier also asked the police and security forces deployed in the violence-hit districts to seize illegal arms.

Police said automatic firearms have been used in the last four to five days of the violence in three districts.

The four BTAD districts - the Bodo heartland of Assam - had been a hotbed of militancy earlier.

While the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) outfit has been disbanded and its leaders now run the administration in the four districts, many of its members are reported to possess illegal arms, which they did not deposit while surrendering.

Similarly, the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) now has two groups -- one group of surrendered militants who expressed their willingness to sit for peace talks and the anti-talks faction, headed by Ranjan Daimnary, which also reportedly possesses a lot of illegal weapons.

Cong councillor named in FIR
Staff reporter
GUWAHATI, Sept 1 – The recent clashes in Barpeta on August 28 has put the ruling Congress in an embarrassing position as a local leader of the party was named in the FIR of the case for his alleged involvement in the violence. Meanwhile, though the situation in Barpeta improved, the affected people are still living in relief camps.
Police sources here told The Assam Tribune that the councilor of Barpeta Road, Mujammil Haque, was named in one of the FIRs of the incidents of violence in Barpeta during the AAMSU-sponsored Assam bandh. One person was killed and a number of houses were burnt down in Barpeta following clashes between bandh supporters and those who were opposing the same.

The alleged involvement of Haque also put Minister Nilamani Sen Deka in an embarrassing position while he was visiting the affected area. When the Minister was talking to a group of affected people, Haque and other local leaders of the Congress arrived at the spot and the affected people alleged that Haque was directly involved in inciting violence.

Police admitted that Haque was given a PSO and on the day of the incident, the PSO was on duty with the Congress man. But the PSO was withdrawn on August 29.

Meanwhile, the situation in Barpeta is improving and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the district in the last couple of days. However, night curfew in Barpeta is still on and curfew in the affected area was relaxed from 11 am to 3 pm.

Sources said that more than 800 affected people are still living in five relief camps in Barpeta and in addition to intensification of security measures, peace committees have been formed in various parts of the district.

Meanwhile, commenting on the allegation that adequate security measures were not taken in the relief camps set up in Dhubri district, police sources said that so far no incident of any attack on camp took place and "we are not apprehending any such attack." Sources said that most of the camps are located in areas considered safe while, security measures have been taken in the relief camps located in the vulnerable areas.

Nagaland returning to normalcy

Kohima, Sept 3 (IANS): Nagaland Home Minister Imkong Imchen today said the situation in the clash-hit area of Dimapur is slowly returning to normalcy after clashes between the Sumi and Angami Naga tribes.
"The situation in Dimapur is slowly returning to normal but the district administration is keeping a close watch to prevent miscreants taking advantage of the situation," Imchen told IANS.

He said the army would continue to patrol the affected area to assist the district administration in maintaining law and order.

On Sunday, the army staged a flag march in Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland a day after clashes between the Naga Sumi and Angami tribes.

The clashes between Angami and Sumi tribesmen erupted after one Kivika Assumi, accused of stealing a motorbike in Kohima, died in the custody of an Angami group on Friday.

Kohima is the capital of Nagaland and the heartland of the Angami tribe while Dimapur, about 75 km south of Kohima, is a commercial hub, bordering Assam, and predominantly Sumi.

As news of Kivika's death spread, a mob went on a rampage attacking people in Dimapur Saturday.

Ten people, including two women, were injured and public and private property, including a resort owned by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio were attacked. Rio is an Angami tribesman.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar has expressed concern over the law-and-order situation in Dimapur district following the death of Kivika in Kohima.

Kumar appealed to both the communities to maintain calm and peace in the State.
