Defense: No Russian emergency behind anti-submarine warfare
Försvaret: Inget ryskt nödsamtal bakom ubåtsjakt

On Saturday, October 18 revealed the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet to an emergency call on the Russian submarine prior to the alarm in the Stockholm archipelago. The newspaper also said that there have been encrypted radio traffic between a transmitter in the archipelago and one transmitter in Kaliningrad where large parts of the Russian Baltic Fleet's. The data were reproduced by virtually all Swedish media, including the Daily News . The disclosure also received international acclaim. Already in Friday's paper newspaper DN that requires no radio communication between the field and Kaliningrad intercepted during the six-day operation.
I thought it was exciting to read about the Russian emergency call you. But there is no such thing - the information is incorrect, says a source in Navy intelligence, formally called the intelligence section (M2) at the Naval taktiskta Staff (MTS).

The prior thread is http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/...earch-suspected-submarine-near-stockholm.html, and it turns out, it was all a hoax.

An esteemed commentator had suspected that this could be a hoax, and it turns out, it was. Here is the original quote in the thread based on a conspiracy theory:

Reported by RT: http://rt.com/news/197412-sweden-sub-dutch-russia/

Could be a Russian submarine testing their (un)detectable-ness. Could be the Dutch submarine. Or, could be a total hoax, just to get the people of Sweden nervous, rake up the fictitious Russian threat, and coax them to join NATO. Of course, the best way to get an entire nation angry is to shoot down a passenger jet and blame it on Russia.

I will wait for evidence about this Loch-Ness Monster. Excuses like "we have evidence but it is classified" ain't gonna work.

It does not matter if the sub was there or not. Let us assume the sub was there. If that is the case, Swedish navy failed to detect the sub in time or take any action against it.

This does not paint Swedish navy in very good light.

"All a hoax" is a conclusion lacking explanation or analysis. We have fake MAYDAY calls in North Carolina all the time and the Coast Guard has to respond.

In the Swedish incident it might be helpful for Swedes to publicly release recordings of the distress transmission as well as RDF data. Attributing the transmission to a vessel of any kind may not be justified. The "sightings" which ensued are not useful, I would agree.

Lessons from Sweden's Sub Hunt - USNI News

The USNI is a long article by a professional for anyone wants to get some significant insight into ASW in the Baltic.

Sniping at Swedes and parroting RT may be adequate for smaller minds.
