No it's not based on Hindu history but Indian history. Most of the names are simply Sanskrit terms which don't have much religious significance

true , But u can't ignored Sikh gurus sacrifice to save Hinduism ,,my Q is simple.there should be some Indian warships or planes named after Sikh gurus or Sikh history

naming is done as per some convention for eg in Navy - they sometimes use cities, sometimes weaons etc
in the air force its pretty much useless, as most jets are foreign origin.
in the armed forces, again its pretty redundant as most people use the foreign names, very few people say bhishma most prefer t90
missiles are named after elements or mythological weapons such as agni, prithvi, akash, nag, trishul

And if they name something like a missile or tank after one of the Gurus it'll be a divisive ssue as Gurus stood for peace !

Imo they should chose non-controversial names, and naming hardly matters.

1st of all, Names are not based on religion but Ancient India/Sanskrit.

For example : AGNI, PRAHAR, SHAURYA, NAG, AKASH and so on. (These are Sanskrit words).

Are names like Krishna or Vishnu used in products ? No. Just historical names of ancient weapons/elements of nature are used. It's not exclusively Hindu

dude everything is not black and white. For example Maharaja Ranjit SIngh refused to help the Marathas for some reason against Abdali.

As Baba said most of the words are just Sanskrit words without much religious significance....they are from your history as well..
