Kathmandu: Nepalese Cable TV operators have
blocked all Indian channels "indefinitely" in
protest against an unofficial "blockade of goods"
into the country.

Amid agitation by the Joint Madhesi Front in the Himalayan nation, scores of goods laden trucks are stranded on the India-Nepal border.
Madhesis have been protesting over
"discriminatory" seven-province model of new Constitution.
Earlier, expressing concern over growing "anti- India" sentiment in Nepal, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae had on Friday said, "We sense that this is being used for certain objective - political or otherwise. We are deeply concerned with the growing anti-India sentiment.
Encouraging such a sentiment is equally harmful to both India and Nepal," he said, while speaking at an event `Nation Ahead Series` here.
"There are certain narratives. There is a section which is encouraging anti-India sentiment as it helps them in some way," Rae said there is a sense of grievance in certain parts of Nepal that needs to be addressed.
"We have no views on what needs to be done. Our intense desire is that these problems should be resolved. These are political problems and should be resolved through dialogues and negotiations," Rae added.
"There is widespread misperception of India`s stand on this issue. We have policy vis-a-vis Nepal and not in relation to a community. If the potential conflicts are not resolved, it may have consequences. This is important for longer stability in Nepal," he said.

Still they are dependent on India for food supply, many development projects in Nepal are being run out by India and many more but still they make protests against our government for more aid, they arrest our officers for arresting Nepali cross border smugglers and now they are trying to put Indian Services and products out.

This is nothing new, pahadis, ie the hill people, have always been anti-India. At least India has a solidly pro-Indian constituency in Nepal now, the Madhesis who are 40% of population.

It is extremely unrealistic to expect everyone to read every thread and hunt down the 500th page in the comments section to get the information they need, when essentially all I was requesting was a brief summary, if anyone really felt qualified on the topic.

I'm not really sure the truth on this topic is well known as there are often many sides to a story and some truths simply can't be known, as each government is pushing their own story and propaganda.

Assuming it would turn into another Sri Lanka is really pushing it and look how well Indian intervention turned out there. It would have been much better if India just sat it out in Sri Lanka, and it would probably be better if India sits it out of Nepalese politics too. Let other nations sort out their own problems, or kill each other if they have to. China doesn't run around generally telling other nations how to run their own countries, India doesn't need to become another preachy USA style nation.
