your friend got swindled! i7-2700k is 19k, i7-3930k is 36k and i7-3960x is 62k. Chances are he bought the middle one and paid 8k more.

I don't think so, actually I was under the impression that Atom was not an extra chip but an integrated system with the motherboard. But I was wrong
It seems it is too small to be replaced by other bigger processors.

nope..tried all tests online and even games that only work on I7
also we managed to set up and start 3 Lab setups in GNS3 which wont ever run on lower processors

Finally Got it..

Its light and Very portable, I reloaded it with XP, Its running smooth now..
