I personally use a Sony Viao Y-Series VPCYB15AG

2 GB RAM
320 HDD
Windows 7 statrer
and the greatest ever keyboard for a Netbook.

It is some how better then traditional Netbooks with a AMD E-350 (1.6 Ghz) Dual core Processor

(keys are in black)

only thing I dont like in my lappie is the bright green led power indicator power button towards the right upper corner.


Now a days their is another model: VPCYB35AN/B

Dont forget to install the VGP-BPL21 duble sized battery instead of the one supplied or as an extra and get 8 hrs minimum battery back up.
And yes hell handy to carry it with you around.

Then take it, but 10" laptops aren't good for doing serious business, but they are portable. They also have a decent battery life. I am sure you will use it primarily for net, documents and playing card games/minesweeper. Atom processors aren't very efficient, so they under-perform any good intel processor with same number of cores and of similar frequency by a factor of 1.5 to 2. But it will be powerful enough to be called a genuine computing device, and not a tab or a smart-phone.

User experience depends a lot on the quality of the LCD screen, and I don't rate Acer high in this compartment.

I don't think so. Aspire One Happy comes in a variety of colours though.

Go for a Dell 14Z XPS or 14Z Inspiron.

8GB RAM, 6.5 hour battery, 720 GB hard disk, i5 processor and just 2.5 pounds.

Works like a charm
