Visakhapatnam: Personnel of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) enthralled the public, especially women and little children, by exhibiting their skills through various types of rehearsals using speed boats, Jemni boats, oil rig blast and a submarine at the Rama Krishna Beach here on Friday on the eve of Navy Day to be held on Sunday. Odisha Governor Murali Chandrakant Bhandare will be the chief guest for the Navy Day. The Navy personnel took up some rehearsals, including air dropping of persons using parachutes through helicopters in case of emergencies. Among all exercises, the oil rig blast and the Navy Band enthralled the audience. Chief of Staff, ENC, Sunil Lamba was the chief guest at the rehearsal. Many warships were anchored off the coast and were illuminated. The entire RK Beach wore a festive look. However, the rehearsals drew less crowd due to the cricket match between India and the West Indies in the city. The crowd is expected to be much more on the Navy Day on Sunday.
