Wikipedia says orders for NAG ATGM have been placed by countries like Tanzania, Botswana & Morocco. Is this true???

Operators

* India: Indian army, Nag missile is to be inducted into the Army's arsenal by 2011 with the successful completion of "final validation trials" in Rajasthan.
* Tanzania: Ordered by Tanzania People's Defence Force
* Botswana: Ordered by Botswana Defence Force
* Morocco: Ordered by Military of Morocco

Status

The Nag will replace the existing Russian Konkours and European missile Milan, both of which are manufactured under license by Bharat Dynamics Limited.India's anti-tank guided missiles, which are competitively priced and had been bought by Tanzania, Botswana and Morocco. An Indian official said a country in the Middle East had shown keen interest in Nag anti-tank guided missiles during Abu Dhabi Defence Expo-2009.

@blackeagle Some member from Azerbaijan had posted military photos in PDF.This was among them.

As regards to induction in IA I have no idea.

I am very excited about NAG as it is a very promising development from DRDO. It has not received export orders yet.

Those countries bought Indian made Milans.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in 2005 to produce Milan ERs at Indian facilities for domestic and foreign purchase.

I don't know whether it has been exported yet or not, but i can say for sure that several countries have shown interest in it and many among them are potential buyers. On various occasion DRDO chief has indicated that they are in advance stage of talks with several countries though they did not name any but said these countries are Latin, African and Arabian. However on some occasion DRDO has also stressed that they may not be able to disclose names of buyers because of sensitive nature of weapon.

I believe since NAG has cleared all tests including engaging target at 500 meters it is only matter of time when final inking comes. There are very few fire and forget anti-tank missiles in NAG class and in NAG's price range.

Nag is not inducted into Indian arm forces.................so do you think we would have exported the same without proper development and BTW which country would have buy the same, without tested and purchase by home country ???

I don't think anybody will buy it unless IA inducts them into its armor regiments ! An order placed by the Army is not good enough a reason for a foreign nation to buy it.

I know it has yet to be exported, but I can say for sure that it will eventually. Neither Russia or Europe will have a ground based missile in this class for some time, 2018 in Europe and 2015 in Russia. The only competitors are Javelin, which is only in a short-range man portable version, and Spike.

So, how does Nag compare with Spike? I thought Spike, Javelin, LMAT are all man-portable missiles. Nag is not.
And would Russia or Europe buy the Nag from DRDO?

you are people are funny

most of Europe has already acquired spike or javelin
Italy , Germany,Poland, Netherlands , Austria got spike
England and France got javelin
even India acquired spike for it's superior characteristics
we also dominate the south American market (except Venezuela )
and the Russians have the only supersonic ground based tank destroyer complex
"crizantema" on a bmp 3 chassis with a dual seeker (radar+ Ir )
with range of 8 km
you may have some luck in Africa and the Arab worlds poor countries
that cant afford Russian tech
