Possibly Sonic weapon. Low altitude explosion creating vibration, killing ability or at least decapitating enemy troops, something like Soviet wanted to make and also developed a supersonic but low altitude flying light combat jet to delivery that.
May be ICL-20 warhead test...

So INS Aridaman gets inducted and then we have some mysterious explosions. Sounds like weapons testing to me.

That might have been the wreckage of the Drone which would have used for the missile hit and kill strike ..So its basically ASTRA test but the sound was the naughtiness of Su30 creating a sonic boom flying in low altitude to fire the missile ..

The wreckage apparently:

Seems to be Prithvi as PII is visible.

Seems too small to be Prithvi 2. Look at the first pic. Judging by the appearance of the wreakage, it seems to be a tail assembly of sorts. You can make out the vertical tail stabilizer. And if we take the feet at the reference one can easily say its too small for any manned aircraft. It has to be an unmmaned platform. Probably the target drone used for the Astra test.

On the side note, if IAF is using Astra on target drones in actual hit to kill tests then it may suggest some good news in near future. If I am not mistaken destructive tests for such systems (SAMS, BVRM and Torpedoes) are done only after exhaustive non destructive simulated impact tests.

The wreckage is likely from an old Prithvi test. You can see PII written on the airframe.

Aridaman hasn't been inducted. It has been launched. which means that it is in sea trials now. there will be a whole lot of maneuvers conducted with across its entire envelope and all the data collected will be recorded.
If everything stands within specifications, only then can one say that it has been inducted.

According to a Bengali newspaper, the wreckage was from a crashed HAL made aircraft and unrelated to the explosion.

Also, the IAF has accepted they caused the explosion during a test.

No the wrekage is 3 to 6 months old, rusted and covered in moss, according to the Coast Guard who took a look at it.
