Hui's conflict with police is not a ethnic issue, but rather a conflict between government and the people. There is hundreds of protest in China every years against demolishing building, it is actually very common for villager runs into conflict with the police when their land is being taken away for real estate or infrastructure project. There are actually more people suicide to protest for land dispute than religious in China.

Hui conflict is not an ethnic issue.

It is a religious issue.

The destruction of a Mosque that the Govt deemed as illegal.

Yes, it might as well be a religious issue too. though could have been avoided if there was more conversation by the government. For example, a new mosque in another site etc. Many incident happen because local government careless of people's demand, Lukan incident that happen months ago was a great example.

One cannot blame the Chinese Govt for what they did,

It was an illegal construction and so they demolished it.

Nothing wrong legally, even if some may feel not so morally.

China is not India,

Rules are important in China, while keeping all happy is what India think is correct since they depend on votes!

That is also why I took China much shorter time to build infrastructure project... A great example would electricity output. Date compile by CIA World Factbook.

Well, this may seem irrelevant to the topic but it is relevant because this is a indicator that a good dictatorship will able to develop infrastructure faster. However, we should not rely on luck that the dictator is relatively "good". That is why we need a democracy.
