Hehe, for the current American empire, thats now how many heads of states they have killed... including Osama? What a coincidence they all also happened to be critics of the US...

Its like 5 down, 657 to go...
Our president won the Nobel Peace Prize, you know...

Depends on how much oil Syria has.
Not a lot that would interest the west. Problem is that the west will have to show the same resolve as it did in Libya otherwise it will be called hypocrite. Well we know it is as all big powers are and should be to a certain extent. But toppling Asad would help the US help it's ally Israel.

West are already hypocrites.

They've toppled dozens of democratic govt's and have been friends with dozens of dictators.

Assad gone could mean Lebanon no longer being under the Syrian thumb.

I am a proponent of hypocrisy for national interest :D

But as far as Syria is concerned, a lot would improve in ME if Asad goes.

He earns it by stepping back to let France do the killing and then claims credit for it later.
Besides, NATO was eager to demonstrate combat capability of Rafale and Eurofighter to IAF to strengthen their competitive points in MRCA bid.

How much combat capability did EF exhibit? Drop a couple of Paveways towards the end of the war and it is suddenly combat tested.

The U.N. wants an investigation on how Gaddafi was killed. Where was the U.N. when he was killing his own people?
its a nice move to keep a tab upon the newly elected libyan. keeping him within watch dogs will make sure that if the new person in charge gets rogue or deflect away from set course of action then he can be roped into legal loop. this will legitimize future action if need arises.

Passing a resolution for NATO to enforce a "no fly zone" over libya. We all know what actually happened.
