Around 50 skywalks or elevated walkways are being planned at railway stations across Mumbai and its suburbs to facilitate the movement of people from stations to adjoining areas without disrupting the flow of vehicular traffic.

If Modi has it his way, that is very possible. Today if you go to Gujarat, you can see how the average town and city is four years ahead of the rest of the country. That gap is only getting wider.

Stage set for Ahmadabad BRTS launch​

AHMEDABAD: With Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) all set for its launch on October 14, time schedules and speed of buses are being fine tuned. As of now, your travel from RTO Circle to Chandranagar bus stop has been cut short by almost 10 minutes. Buses under the service will travel at an average speed of 25 km/hr a speed that is being maintained in Columbian city of Bogota and in the US.

Bus timings are being scheduled in a manner that every four to five minutes commuters get a bus, said senior Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) officials. Buses will be fitted with CCTV cameras for security purpose. Besides, BRTS smart cards will be available at all BRTS bus stations for a fee of Rs 25 from October 14 onwards and can be topped up according to various fare price band in the offing.
