It is. The roads are narrow and winter months can pose a challenge. There is a major airport in the city, however and that is connected to most major north-eastern and northern cities and most southern metropolises. The nearest rail station (to Aizawl) is at Silchar, a distance of 135 km. from the city. From one end to the other: we go from South to North-east to the city of Aizawl: capital of Mizoram. Aizawl (pop. 300,000) is a Tier IV city and is known for its vibrant westernised culture, pubs and a steadfast Elvis Presley infatuation! Culturally very similar to the Phillipines, it is India's gateway to southern Burma.
