I don't get what the big deal is about so-called "New Year's day". It's just another date in the calendar. Moreover, it is a completely arbitrary date-some random dude in the ancient past decided that Jan 1st would be the 1st day of the next year, so millions of people all over the world "celebrate" this so-called "event" every single year.

Well, I am in New England and have been battered by terrible snow and cold. Driving to work is like a sleigh-ride with the constant fear of a road accident.
