Kolkata hosts three day Israeli film festival
The Federation of Film Societies of India and the Embassy of Israel will jointly host a three day Israeli Film Festival in the city for the first time from tomorrow.
During the three day fest as many as six award winning movies made by the film makers from the small West Asian Jewish state would be screened for the city's movie buffs.
Honourary Consul of Israel in Kolkata and leading industrialist Harshavardhan Neotia would inaugurate the fest at Nandan here tomorrow evening. Later the internationally acclaimed film 'Intimate Grammar' by award winning director Nir Bergman would be screened.
Among the other movies to be shown during the next two days are 'Bena', directed by Niv Klainer,'Lonely Planet' by Edan Zeira, 'The Matchmaker'by Avi Nesher,'Mabul(The Flood) by Guy Nattiv and 'The Valley of Strength' by Dan Wolman
The movies at the film festival, to be concluded on February 28, were primarily centred around the life and other aspects of the Israeli society at large, and would show at least two films each day, sources at the Israeli consulate here today informed.
