Chinese leaders should already know his death since yesterday and I'm sure they are scramble to work on contingency plan on different scenarios.
Kim Jong Il's death marks the turning point of Korean peninsula and leads to inevitable destiny of eventual unification. It's now a critical time for world to settle it peacefully. Any mistakes or misjudgment could cause devastating consequence and hefty price for world to pay.

Speaking of a hefty price to pay, how can KS afford reunification financially, if I may ask? Certainly not on its own, and the US would have to near much of the cost, as I see it. Just to be clear, the investment in reunification would be the better choice if war was the other option.

The worrying thing about NK "fairy tale" plots for their Kims is that they have to mix it with a grain of reality. This is where your cross border adventures come in. The sinking of the SK navy ship may only be the start. The "fairy tale" building efforts may yet intensify in the first days, weeks or years of the new very yound Kim.

Well I don't think Lee Myung Bak would take this lying down any more. There would be a full-blown war and this one would be the endgame for the Fat Kims. Seoul has really run out of patience, after we saw how they deployed jets in response.

China have had DPRK by their balls ever since USSR collapsed. Just like the pukes are a proxy against India, DPRK is a proxy against Japan and SK. They hope to develop DPRK as a proxy against the US too but long range missiles going across the Pacific is a different ball game. If the US gets to know this they will flatten DPRK and maybe even China.
So whether this asshole is dead or not, there is no redemption for the poor suffering in DPRK. The fatboy heir will assume his role and China will continue to feed him.
