One question.........

What about the core?
yeah that's not gonna happen. i was damn sure.
some people were jumping like monkey here and claiming safran core will be integrated on out indigenous kaveri.
i m glad that didn't happen otherwise our greatest Indian fanboys are ready to discredit drdo in a minute...

This is another fake news. Why post such things? India is making Al31F engine that has 80/125kN thrust at 1550kg weight and you are saying that India needs consultants from Snecma to finish 70-80kN worthless engine?

You don't seem to understand the meaning of flat rating. Kaveri is flat rated at 84kN thrust. It can go higher
Not sure if this is ignorance or deliberate disinformation but it’s totally wrong. Stating that they are still at the consultation phase is insane and that they will go from the pre-consultation to having completed 30-40 test flights on an LCA in under a year from now......
As per the DRDO annual report.

Lets keep it flying with low level of flight envelop and testing. Once it off the ground, work on it, it will be emmenc moral booster for scientists who have worked on it. Once its off ground, work on it and fine tune it. Then reach the target thrust. At the same time work on next generation of engine.

R&D is continuous process, you have to learn it through research and pump in $$$.
We have be ahead of cureve or at least on tip of curve.

Kaveri will not be directly tested on a single engine plane in the beginning. testing requires a bail out engine if the test engine fails.

Kaveri initial testing was not done on Tejas. Only after Kaveri engine is certified for a limited envelope, will the testing be done on Tejas as demonstration

this time french aircraft will be used .............. not russian ?
I'm not sure we have this kind of beast.
M88 were air tested on the Rafale A prototyp, by replacing one mature F404 with a brand new M88. I don't see a Rafale "leased" for this task. For a preliminary air domain apperture, better to use a civilian liner. Airbus A340 ? Russian liner?

Testing an engine is not just hooking it up on a plane with 4 engines an flying it. The flying test bed has to have sensors and detectors etc to acquire data for analysis and for correction etc of problems and issues.. That is something we have to build or buy or lease.

That is something we can build. We already have ground test bed and that can be installed in big transport jets too. These test beds were in use since 50 years. Even in 1970s and 80s, engines were tested by these kind of test beds. Making them isn't big work.

see same thing without flying test bed. With all sensors.
