Will they also behead Hurriyat leaders?
Week after quitting as Hizbul commander, Zakir Musa floats new militant outfit, announces support to Al Qaeda
Srinagar: Zakir Musa, who quit as Hizbul Mujahideen commander after the terror outfit strongly condemned his threat to Hurriyat leaders, on Friday announced to float a new militant outfit.
In a new tape released today, Musa floated the new organisation and professed his support to terror group Al-Qaeda.
Musa severed ties with the Hizbul Mujahideen last week, hours after the outfit denounced his statement that separatist leaders from the Hurriyat Conference would be beheaded if they became a hurdle in Kashmir’s road to becoming an Islamic state. The militant was apparently ticked off by a May 8 statement by the separatists that the “freedom struggle in Kashmir has nothing to do with ISIS and al-Qaeda”.
The separatist leader also warned Kashmiris against donating money in his name. “Those who demand money are not my men,” he said.
The specter of the previous threat issued by Musa, however, wasn’t completely dispelled. "Even if we do kill a hypocrite, we will release a video owning up to it. This way, no confusion will be created," Musa said in the new clip.
Within 24 hours of releasing his first statement, Musa later released a second audio tape where he announced dissociating himself from the Hizbul outfit , saying that he stood by his views.
Claiming that the 'freedom struggle' was for establishing of an Islamic State, Musa said that if his blood was shed, it would be for establishing a Caliphate rule and not a secular state as suggested by moderate separatists.
NIA starts probing Geelani and others for receiving Pakistan funds
Neeraj Chauhan| TNN | Updated: May 19, 2017, 10.50 PM IST
NIA has taken cognizance of a TV sting operation where some separatist leaders are taking about funding from across the border
Senior officials said funding from Pakistan comes via gulf countries
NEW DELHI: Ten months after mass protests and stone pelting on security forces began in Kashmir valley following the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani, the National Investigation Agency has started a probe against hardline separatist leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Naeem Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar (Chairman of JKLF), Gazi Javed Baba (leader of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat) and others for allegedly receiving funds from Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed, other Pakistan-based terror outfits and Pakistani agencies (hinting at ISI) and other "subversive activities".
Naming all of them in its preliminary enquiry, NIA has said funds were allegedly received by Hurriyat leaders for carrying stone pelting, burning schools and other government buildings, attacking security forces and damaging public property.
The government has already been keeping an eye on separatists for superimposing militancy over "civil resistance" in Jammu and Kashmir by radicalising youngsters with the help of Pakistan.
In its annual report for 2016-17, MHA, while talking about security situation in J&K, has stated that 2016 has seen a change in Pak tactics following strategy of superimposition of militancy over "civil resistance" through radicalisation by vested interest groups and social media.
MHA says that after Burhan Wani was neutralised on July 8, last year, "Hurriyat leaders were involved in fomenting the trouble in the shape of organizing protests and forcing the shopkeepers to shut their shops through their dictates of protest calendars."
MHA says that since the advent of militancy in J&K (in 1990), 13,936 civilians and 5,043 security forces personnel have lost their lives there.
Defence minister Arun Jaitley also said on Friday that the fact that Hurriyat leaders were taking money from Pakistan was already known in "informed circles", and called it a conspiracy against not just India but also the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
After registering a PE, an NIA team has already reached valley to begin its investigation and question Geelani and other Hurriyat leaders. The agency has also taken cognizance of a TV sting operation where some separatist leaders are taking about funding from across the border. Some of them can be heard bragging about how funds are routed including Dubai route or hawala to them in the sting operation.
Sources said that they will check the bank accounts of suspects, use of dummy companies for transfers from Pakistan or via a third country, hawala operators to ascertain the exact amount received from Hafiz Saeed and Pakistani agencies. Officials added that only when they get strong evidence on funding from Pakistan, they will turn the PE into a regular case.
Intelligence officials say that the amount received by separatists to keep active the turmoil in Kashmir from Pakistan in last one year could be in several hundred crores.
According to senior officials at the North Block, the funding from Pakistan, which is directly monitored by Pak's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), comes via gulf countries, Saudi Arabia and other places before it reaches to places like Anantnag, Pulwama, Kupwara and Srinagar etc.
The separatist leaders, who had recently called for boycotting elections in the Valley and have disrupted normal life for almost a year now, distribute the funds received from Pakistan to the stone-pelters for attacking security forces.
Officials say that these stone-pelters, who don't have any other sources of income, are paid Rs 500 to Rs 1000 every day for disrupting law and order arrangements or operations carried out by security forces against the terrorists or wave Pakistani flags.
According to an estimate by Intelligence Bureau, there are around 250 terrorists active in Jammu and Kashmir presently, most of them local boys. A large number of them have joined Hizbul Mujahideen in past 10 months.
Pak is threatening to drag Kahmir issue at ICJ.
More violence in Kashmir.
As usual stone pelters help terrorists escape. Unless we start treating these as abetment to terrorists and thus enemy, consequently use deadly force on them, they'll never give up these tactics.
Government keeping close watch to check terror funding in Kashmir
BY PTI | MAY 25, 2017, 08.14 PM IST
NEW DELHI: The Centre today said it is keeping a close watch on illegal flow of funds to fuel militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and action is being taken by security agencies in such instances.
"All terror related incidents, including terror funding, are being monitored by the agencies. Appropriate action is also being taken," spokesperson in the Home Ministry Ashok Prasad told reporters here.
He was replying to a question on Pakistan's continuous attempts to fund militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prasad said the state police along with the central paramilitary forces is trying to bring back normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, which has been hit by unrest.
"All efforts are being made to bring back normalcy. The central government is providing all help to the state government," he said.
According to an estimate of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Pakistan-based terror groups finance terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir by generating millions in donations through their charity organisations.
Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF), a charity run by terror outfits Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Al Rehmat Trust, backed by another terrorists group Jaish-e- Mohammed (JeM), have been supporting terrorists and funding terrorism in Kashmir.
These outfits collect donations from people in Pakistan and then pass on the money to finance terrorism in Kashmir through their over ground workers, an NIA official has said.
'Al Rehmat Trust' distributes pamphlets to raise funds for sacrificing animals during Eid and after collecting the money, they finance terrorism.
FIF, one of the major and fastest growing Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in Pakistan, also collects money from people and uses them to fund terrorists.
The groups collect millions of dollars in donations through crowd funding in the name of social service, the officer said.
According to a 2012 report of an intelligence agency, 780 million Pakistani rupees were collected for funding terrorism in Kashmir.
Congress justifying anti national politicians in Kashmir.

ED submits report of its investigation. suspects in probe a famous Kashmiri businessman to be playing as an isi-operative & key figure in laundering money for terrorism in the valley....
this is yet another gleaming feather on the khangress's topi! thats because, intel agencies had investigated, prepared and submitted a report about this to the then UPA-I govt. back in 2005 itself! but all it served to do was to become yet another file to be ignored & kept in cold storage by the durbari party.
Iran's supreme leader says all should support Kashmiris against tyrants. Which means Shia's should follow him?
This is most probably because of Modi's US visit.
Twice in 7 days, Iran talks of 'oppressed' Kashmir
Shailaja Neelakantan| TIMESOFINDIA.COM | Updated: Jul 5, 2017, 01.54 PM IST
NEW DELHI: For the second time in a week, Iran's 'supreme leader' Ayatollah Khamenei made comments about Kashmir, urging support for its "oppressed Muslims", reported the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Khamenei's timing is noteworthy, as his comments came in the run-up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel, which is no friend of Iran's. Further, with India and Iran squabbling over a gas field, and India's tilt toward Riyadh, Indo-Iran ties are suddenly not looking too high on New Delhi's agenda .
In 2010, when Khamenei spoke of Kashmir, India summoned the then acting Iranian Ambassador to register its protest, So far, there has been no statement from New Delhi on Khamenei's latest comments.
Khamenei on Monday urged Iran's judiciary to "express its firm support or opposition" on several Muslim-related issues including "oppressed personalities like (Nigerian Shiite leader) Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky or Muslims of Myanmar and Kashmir", IRNA reported.
Before this, he mentioned Kashmir was during an Eid address on June 26.
"Everyone should openly support people of Yemen, Bahrain and Kashmir," said Khamenei, according to the headline to a news item posted on one of his web sites, English.khamenei.ir.
Muslim world should openly support people of #Bahrain, #Kashmir, #Yemen, etc and repudiate oppressors& tyrants who attacked ppl in #Ramadan.
— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) 1498453667000
"Conflicts in Yemen, Bahrain, problems in all Islamic countries, are major wounds on the body of Islam. The World of Islam should explicitly support the people of Yemen, and express their disdain against the oppressors who've attacked the people in such horrible ways during the month of Ramadan....The same is true for the people of Bahrain and Kashmir: Our people can back this great movement within the World of Islam," he said.
In 2010, Khamenei called Kashmir a "nation" said it is the "duty" of the world's Muslims to assist it.
"The major duties of the elite of the Islamic Ummah is to provide help to the Palestinian nation and the besieged people of Gaza, to sympathise and provide assistance to the nations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Kashmir, to engage in struggle and resistance against the aggressions of the United States and the Zionist regime," he had said.
Mirwaiz writes to OIC, seeks help to resolve Kashmir issue
Mirwaiz Umer Farooq on Tuesday shot off a letter to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) appealing it to impress upon Indian government to end "atrocities in Kashmir" and give its people their promised "right to self-determination".
In the letter, addressed to Dr. Yousuf Al-Othaimeen Secretary General OIC, read out by Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Convenor APHC Azad Jammu & Kashmir at the 44th session of the council of foreign ministers, Mirwaiz asked the renowned body of Muslim countries "to come forward at this most urgent and grave situation for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and impress upon the Government of India to put an end to atrocities on Kashmirs and give them their right to self determination".
He asked the OIC to ask India to start a meaningful dialogue process with both Pakistan and people of Kashmir to resolve this vexed dispute so that true peace, prosperity and stability is established in J&K.
"...and the entire South-Asia and people of Kashmir are brought out of the misery and suffering that they are enduring as a consequence of the conflict."
"The people of Kashmir for the past seven decades have been relentlessly struggling for the exercise of their right to self-determination accrued to them under United Nations Charter and the resolutions passed by UN Security Council on Kashmir Dispute as they continue to give huge sacrifices of life, property and what not for the achievement of this right," said the Mirwaiz.
Mirwaiz, who is under house detention and does not possess travel documents, also thanked the OIC for the invitation and expressed his regret for not being able to attend the summit.
Mirwaiz said that the world is aware of "our legitimate right and aspirations are being ruthlessly trampled under the jack-boots of the Indian Forces and even our basic human rights are suspended by the state’s coercive machinery."
"Use of brutal force on the protestors in the streets, incarceration of political leaders and activists, repeated house arrest of resistance leadership including myself, repeated imposition of curfew and severe restrictions by the has become a routine in Kashmir. Repeated Communication and internet bans and blockades is the norm of the day so that information about abuses and violence on people gets supressed," he said.
"Referring to last years peoples agitation Mirwaiz said that 120 Civilians were killed in cold blood ,hundreds deprived of their vision either completely or partially by pellet firing, more than eighteen thousand people injured many among them maimed for life while tens of thousands arbitrarily arrested and thrown in jails by the Indian Government Forces and agencies in Kashmir while the whole valley was put under continuous curfew for months together. Mirwaiz said such was the brutality of the pellets guns used to blind civilians that New York Times declared it as the year of 'dead eyes in Kashmir.' "
Mirwaiz said it is unfortunate that The Government of India is continuously refusing to accept the ground reality in Kashmir and engage with it not only as a political problem but as a humanitarian issue of more than ten million people, instead it is using coercion, suppression and arm-twisting tactics to deny the people of Jammu & Kashmir their legitimate right .
Mirwaiz said that the people of Jammu & Kashmir have always valued and expressed gratitude to the members states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for their unflinching support to the cause of Kashmiris.
He is going to get is oh I see let's see what the collection of Islamic fools will answer
Offtopic and not relevant to the thread.
I personally believe that India should maintain a strong and effective military force.
@SREEKAR PLEASE DO NOT GLORIFY ENGLAND/GB.
Actually Britain/England got invaded multiple times in their history. The British/English are a complete bunch of cowards.
The Romans,Vikings,French and Dutch have all conquered England in the past. Even their kings are not of native Anglo Saxon ancestry.
London itself was built by the Romans as Londonium. The Romans used to rape the english women and would sell them as slaves.
Then the Vikings and French came in 1066 AD. The English language itself is mostly of French and German origin.
Then the Dutch came along.
Deception/deceit is always a fair tactic in war. Our great heroes from Mahabharata and Ramyana all agreed that to destroy evil you have to make use of all available options, even if they were not morally correct.
You seem to be like Arjun who refused to fight and was finally convinced otherwise by Krishna.
As for the epics, do you not know how our Ramachandro killed Vali when he was dueling Sugriv. Sugriv was not even evil or cruel like Ravan.
Sugriva challenged Vali to a fight. When Vali sallied forth to meet the challenge, Rama emerged from the forest to shoot and kill him with an arrow from the back of a tree.
A dying Vali told Rama, "If you are searching your wife you should have come to me for help and friendship. Whoever took Sita, be it Ravana himself, I would have defeated them and would have brought them to your feet, to your mercy."
Vali asked the following questions:
He made my wife a widow and stole my kingdom. What was my crime?
Even if I committed a crime(with my brother), what is your right to kill me? I would have helped you in getting Sita, your father king Dasharatha helped my father King Indra to fight against rakshasas.
Rama makes the following replies to Vali:
The younger brother should be treated like a son. Even if he made a mistake you should forgive him, especially when he promised to respect you for your whole life.
About his authority, he said he had permission from King Bharata to spread righteousness and punish evils. You lost your kingdom while fighting with mayavi and you are no more a king, so how can I ask you for your help?
Also in Bengali version of Ramayan I had heard the tale of how Ramachandra even became a disciple of Ravan to kill him. Rama learnt all the tricks of trade(using a disguise) and then killed his own guru Ravan with help of Ravan`s own relative Bhivisan.( See the contrast to Dronacharya and Eklavya`s tale. There are other contrasting tales like Ram eating the berries from Shabari and about him killing Sambuk.)
Anyway the crux of the matter is everything is fair in war.
The problem with our politicians is that when it comes to dealing with Muslims, they can not take harsh steps. They can defame Majorities and can be extremely unfair to Hindus but they need to play goody goody where ever they have to deal with Muslims. Now they a reasonably better government is in place so we can expect something better though not best. Inspaite of so called Hindu nationalist Government in place, they are unable to speak anything about the rehabilitation of Hindus. Till today, Hurriyat detract the terms.
