Karnataka: Five arrested for suspected links with Indian Mujahideen | NDTV.com
Bangalore: Four people have been arrested in Hubli in Karnataka for allegedly having links with banned terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM), sources have told NDTV.

A journalist working with a daily in Bangalore and suspected to have links with the IM has also been arrested, sources added. The journalist, identified as Siddiqui, was reportedly picked up by the Uttar Pradesh police and handed over to the Bangalore Police.

A journalist and nine others have been picked up by the Bengaluru [ Images ] police in connection with the Chinnaswamy blasts case.

A special team from Delhi [ Images ], which is also in the city, is coordinating with the city crime branch, which carried out the arrests late Wednesday night.

The journalist was one of the five picked up from Bengaluru while others were brought down to the city from Hubli for questioning.

The police are tight-lipped about the operation and say that the matter is at a very preliminary stage.

Questioning is on and we are trying to ascertain links, police sources said.

The operation took place in the wake of more evidence that came up during the probe.

The Delhi Police too has been passing on information in this case since the terror modules which carried out the attacks in Delhi and Bengaluru were the same.
