Today I bought a set of metal number punches at the hardware store. The box said "numerals 0 -8". It took me two hours to figure out why it didn't contain the number 9. :-(

Yeh, hand stamps usually have 9 digits, where the 6 and 9 are interchangeable. Sometimes, though industrial lockmakers will purchase two separate 8's and a 6 and 9, because of the wear and tear on these numbres. But, Standard metal punches come in sets of 9 digits ( 0-8 ).

Well, I told my 17 yr old daughter that it took me 2 hours to figure it out. She just smiled because she already knows her old dad is over the hill.
