Lashkar terrorists behead Congress worker in J&K

JAMMU: Terrorists beheaded a Congress party worker in remote and mountainous Kwath area of Tehsil Chatroo in Kishtwar district.
The beheaded body of the Congress worker was found in the nearby forest area after he went missing on the intervening evening of May 16 and 17.
Gani was vice president of Halqa (local panchayat) unit of the Congress party and was actively campaigning for Piare Lal, a Congress party contestant in the ongoing Panchayat Polls.
Sources said that a newly recruited Laishker-e- Toiba terrorist, Khurshid Ahmed accompanied with other armed men knocked at the door of Abdul Gani Rather's house in Kwath Chatroo- Kishtwar and asked him for dinner.
As Abdul Gani's wife went to bring food from the kitchen, the terrorists forcibly took Gani along with them. Sources said Gani's wife, in the morning, told the villagers that her husband had been missing from late night. The villagers went searching for Gani and discovered, to their horror, his beheaded body in the nearby forest area.
Sources said that Gani's head was deliberately placed on a stone as if to mark barbaric triumph and create fear psychosis.
DIG Doda Kishtwar Munish Sinha confirmed that Abdul Gani was first kidnapped and later killed by the group of some local terrorists of LeT active in the area. Sinha however denied that the killing had any kind of link with the ongoing Panchayat elections. He suspected that the locals were giving a political spin to the killing.
He said that according to the preliminary investigations, police had found that the newly recruited terrorist Khurshid Ahmed along with his associates Mohammad Ishaq and others were involved in the killing. Gani's body, he said, was found near Dundmarg Nallah almost 30 kms away from Kwath.
Last year, on July 22, a contractor was kidnapped, tortured and later beheaded by terrorists in village Lidreri in Kishtwar district.
