Iraq, Pakistan, Kuwait Show Interest in Russia's Next-Gen Military Gear

Iraq, Pakistan and Kuwait are among the countries that have shown an interest in Russia's next-generation Ratnik (Warrior) military equipment system, the CEO of TsNIITochMash, a major arms manufacturer, said Monday.

"Iraq, Pakistan and Kuwait have expressed interest in the Ratnik Russian military equipment system. It is too early to talk about any contacts," Dmitry Semizorov told reporters at IDEX-2015 arms exhibition in the United Arab Emirates.

The Ratnik set is composed of more than 40 parts, including firearms, body armor and optical, communication and navigation devices, as well as life support and power supply systems. It enables voice and video communication between soldiers and squadron leaders.
