Russia and Iran have expressed their opposition to the US-led NATO missile plan in Turkey.
A member of Iran's Assembly of Experts Hassan Rohani has censured Turkey for harboring a NATO missile system on its soil, calling on the Ankara government to scrap the planned system.

In a meeting with Turkey's Ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim on Tuesday Rohani said because the US Secretary of State has stated Iran is the target of the missile system we did not expect the Turkish government and officials, who are among our good friends, to accept the deployment of the NATO missiles on their soil.

Considering the geopolitical tensions that are going on in West Asia, it is likely that Iran, Turkey and Syria are going to end up blowing each other up rather than any of them targeting Israel. :p.

Turkey can only cross the red line upto here. After this, they have to comply with NATO agreements because simply put, they will be kicked out if they crossed the invisible line. Erdogan might be shown as a strong leader but he is a fool to fantasize himself has some Ottman sultan trying to recreate an 800 year old phenomena.

Iran OTOH needs to decide what it wants to do. This is the demerit of getting ruled by mad mullahs and dictators when there is no enemy around. So their strategy: start making new ones. On one hand it wants to close down Hormuz (and incur the wrath of at least 6 dozen countries), now it is asking Turkey to lay off the missile shield plan.

Only if these morons who are in the seat of power can get their act together and learn to live peacefully with their neighbours and focus on the economic development issues than we will have peace in the region. They have been blessed with the cash cow in the form of natural resources yet they are putting their own interest ahead of nations interest.

If Iranian leadership it can achieve anything with their constant annoying rhetorical threats than they are mistaken, it will only bring the SA and GCC in direct conflict against them if they try to close strait of Hormuz.

Let us hope some common sense prevails and everyone takes a step backwards and allow time to cool down the situation.

That photo looks like a museum display of missiles in service when I was a kid.
