Till now Israel had monopoly for almost all hi tech procurement for India but now game is becoming intense and there is a lot more competition now.Even USA is in fray and they will definitely block some critical technology transfer by Israel to promote their products .[/I]
USA will look after it's own interest first, things like the THAAD system that USA has given to Israeli's are off limits to Israeli personnel, they are strictly manned by US personnel. This can be a good opportunity for India to give seed money for Israeli projects which may have a funding problem.

You are absolutely right. problem is that as of now USA has invested heavily into their critical projects and will block them to promote their systems. example is arrow system and some critical avionics or electronics warfare systems.
If we invest now may be we will be able to reap benefits in 2-3 years from now.

Israelis must have some projects where USA does not have any say in the matter??A good example of this is SAR satellite lenses. If USA can do this to all of it's allies no one except USA would be able to sell weapons?? The cost for USA in denying weapons is also getting higher and USA is also going more broke so both of these will again reduce USA influence in arms deals.

As of now Israel is our biggest source for hi tech defense technology. Hope our government try to diversify these co-operation and include Israelis in more and more projects. It will save cost as well as time for us. Even Russians are not doing complete TOT . At least in field of metallurgy .

Russia to offer Turkey advanced surface-to-air missiles

Russia is ready to participate in a tender to offer Turkey S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air missile systems, the state-controlled arms exporter said on Wednesday.

"The Turkish military has a great need for S-300 and S-400 long-range missile defense systems," Rosoboronexport CEO Anatoly Isaikin said. "Russia has expressed its readiness to participate in a tender for the delivery of such systems."

He said leading SAM manufacturers from Western countries would participate in the tender "on a par with Russia."

He gave no indication as to what specific SAM modifications would be offered or the timeframe for the tender.

Turkish military experts have said Ankara is interested in the Russian missiles, which could effectively protect the country's southern borders.

The advanced version of the S-300 missile system, called S-300PMU1, has a range of over 150 kilometers (over 100 miles) and can intercept ballistic missiles and aircraft at low and high altitudes, making it effective in warding off air strikes.

The S-300V/Antey 2500 (SA-12 Gladiator/Giant) consists of a new command vehicle, an array of advanced radars and up to six loader vehicles assigned to each launcher.

The S-400 (SA-21 Growler) is capable of simultaneously engaging six targets to a range of 400 km (250 miles) and an altitude up to 30 kilometers, including aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.

Its not only about weapons. Its also about economical Cooperation. Looks like turkey influence is on rise. They are getting more and more assertive now.

Russia and Turkey have reached an agreement on speeding up the procedures needed to launch bilateral energy deals, the Russian premier said on Tuesday.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev paid an official visit to Ankara in mid-May and signed deals including on the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power plant and an oil pipeline.
"The visit [of Medvedev] was very fruitful and extremely important deals in the sphere of energy, including nuclear energy, were reached," Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at talks with his Turkish counterpart.
Putin arrived in Turkey on Tuesday to attend the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and hold bilateral talks with top officials from Turkey and other countries.
"Now we have agreed that in the near future all the necessary intergovernmental procedures will be undertaken to make these projects work," Putin told journalists after talks with Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Moscow and Ankara have successfully cooperated in the energy sphere, including on the Blue Stream gas pipeline project, the South Stream gas pipeline and the Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
However, experts say the construction of the nuclear plant, evaluated at $20 billion, will be problematic due to the lack of harmonized legislation between Russia and Turkey.
