UNITED STATES - 2 MARCH 2011

Bingen, Wash. - Insitu Pacific and SELEX Galileo announced today that they are collaborating on rapidly integrating SELEX Galileo's best-in-class high-resolution synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) PicoSAR into the Integrator Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).

Equipped with PicoSAR's active electronically scanned array (AESA) and ground moving target indicator (GMTI) technology, Integrator will deliver the highest-resolution SAR imagery available on any tactical UAS in service today.

"This will give deployed forces unprecedented operational flexibility," said Insitu Pacific Managing Director Andrew Duggan. "Today's persistent, high-quality SAR platforms, which fly at much higher altitudes, are expensive to operate, so they're scarce. On Integrator, the warfighter will be able to rapidly apply this advanced SAR technology at close range to targets for high-quality, all-weather change detection."

Integrator is a tactical asset that doesn't require runways to launch or recover. It was designed for rapid payload integration.

"SELEX Galileo is delighted to work with Insitu Pacific to address the needs of the Australian Defence Force and support the troops on the ground," said SELEX Galileo Vice President of Marketing and Sales Bob Mason. "PicoSAR brings a unique SAR/GMTI capability to the battle space that will considerably enhance the sensor capabilities available to tactical commanders."

Weighing in at 10 kilograms, PicoSAR is a compact, light-weight, low-power payload that uses advanced signal processing to develop high-quality SAR imagery previously only seen in much larger SAR payloads.

Insitu Pacific, located in Queensland, Australia, has provided unmanned aircraft system (UAS) services to defense, civil and commercial interests in the Asia-Pacific region since June 2009. It is a subsidiary of U.S.-based Insitu Inc.

INSITU INTEGRATOR UAS:

REVOLUTIONARY:

Insitu's Integratorâ„¢ unmanned air vehicle (UAV) is the next-generation addition to Insitu's operationally mature family of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Designed to address our customers' most pressing needs, Integrator delivers exceptional situational awareness with superior high-quality imagery and long endurance at a fraction of the cost of larger UAS. But, what makes Integrator really stand out from the crowd is the ease with which it accepts payload integration for a wide variety of missions. Payload bays are plug-and-play, so your cargo becomes airborne as quickly and seamlessly as possible.

ADVANCED:

Integrator's baseline sensor package includes inertially stabilized electro-optic (EO), long-wave infrared (LWIR), and mid-wave infrared (MWIR) cameras, with IR marker and laser rangefinder on a single, long-endurance vehicle. For other types of missions, these sensors may be removed to increase the available payload weight or to extend endurance. Integrator has line-of-sight communications range of over 55 nautical miles (nm) with extended beyond-line-of-sight mission radius of up to 550 nm.

COMPLEMENTARY:

Integrator and ScanEagle® unmanned aircraft are interoperable, using common ground system equipment. A single launcher and SkyHook® recovery system can be used to launch and recover both aircraft, making them a natural team in any theater. Operation is completely autonomous from launch to recovery through a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface that keeps operator workload at a minimum. Launch and recovery are performed without nets or runways.

Integrator builds on ScanEagle design principles proven in theater. The cost-effective, runway-independent modular system gives you unequaled value in a small, tactical unmanned aircraft system.

- Integrate Robust Custom Payloads Seamlessly
- Adapt to Changing Missions with a Multi-function Sensor
- Carry Up to 37.5 Pounds of Payload

â– The multi-function ball turret lets you choose and change sensors during the mission. Cross-queued data keeps eyes on target.
â– Common ground support equipment supports mixed-fleet operations, mission-adaptability.

Integrator is also known as the Small Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (STUAS). STUAS will be used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps to provide persistent maritime and land-based tactical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition (RSTA) data collection and dissemination capabilities to the warfighter.

In July 2010, the Department of the Navy awarded Insitu a two-year contract for the design, development, integration, and test of STUAS.
