I dont know why you havent plastered youtube, etc. with content. You would be filling a not existent niche of Indian small arms video content. https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSandyune/videos Used to put out content from OFB small arms, but quit. He was getting viewer base from India.
now he is India today correspondent reporter that's why he was busy also he reports on Indian military affairs i think

OFB is a third rate organisation which deserves all the hate that it gets plus some more, if you ask me it is still not held accountable for things which would be considered criminal in other countries with an actual defence industry.

The non existence of the Indian private sector in defence development is not something which is a modern point of contention for those who want to see better equipment amongst soldiers but something which goes back a long way.

In Brig JP Dalvi's Himalayan blunder (on 1962 war) he does make the point that the private sector was conveniently kept out of defence production by defence minister menon which further retarded an already handicapped defence preparation.

And this book was written in 1968-69.

4 wars since and India has learnt absolutely nothing it seems.

The DPSUs are probably the biggest scam to have occured in the history of independent India. A scam which has all the parties involved at various times.

Indian environment is not conducive for any kind of private defense company to grow. Responsibility lies on

1- User
2- Government
3- Establishment
4- Developer themselves.

Here is another snippet from the same book.

On the inability to contact petrols sent:

"There were cynical and sarcastic remarks about the standard of 7 Brigade's wireless proficiency, as if the brigade signallers could redress the inadequacies of our antiquated equipment.(For years the army had been waiting for Bharat Electronics to produce better sets indigenously. We spent many years drawing up qualitative requirements more to suit the capability of this Public Sector Enterprise than to meet the Army's requirements in the mountains.)"

What happens to this day itself, shameful to say the least.

Almost as if the military exists solely to keep the people in the DPSUs at work.

The general view of them is that they develop problems at a much higher rate than guns from reputable manufacturers. If they copy a design its usually fine, but the guns they design are mostly crap and the disaster waiting to happen. For example

Any opinions on their ammo? Especially .338 if they manufacture.

Hhmm i've read more positive reviews about Taurus made firearms, specially the Beretta 92 versioin of theirs called PT-92 than negatives...

Especially one that Some shooters feel Taurus' iteration of Beretta 92 more intuitive because of frame mounted safety-decocker combo on it like original Beretta 92 instead of ;Americanised; version of Beretta M9 where safety-decocker was put on slider.

It could be that their own designed firearms that are defective, but like our OFB they make good ;kopies; of firearms at least.
