How many Negev lmg are we buying?
16,000 as per article.

It's not confirmed yet officially if Negev will be bought or not. L-1 hasn't been declared AFAIK. But yes, Negev does seem most likely winner...but I'm prepared to be surprised though. Everyone thought IWI ACE 52 was going to win fast-track tender for rifles, and winner turned out to be SIG Sauer.

It all depends on who's willing to offer a lower bid. Could be anyone (IWI, Arsenal, S&T Motiv).

What are the technical differences between INSAS 1C and Excalibur??
Quite simply, Excalibur is stamped receiver & 1C is milled (older INSAS were also stamped).

1C is more modern, so offers a quad-rail handguard which both versions of Excalibur lack. The earlier INSAS variants (1A, 1B) did not have a full-auto capability but 1C has it. Excalibur were full auto-capable from start. Excaliburs come with 30-round mags out of the box AFAIK, whereas INSAS has 20-round ones.

There are other minor differences with regard to buttstock, gas block design etc but they aren't anything that change the basic functioning of the weapon in any way.

Found some anime INSAS stuff from our japanese friends

source - https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/2998331/artworks/銃

also, some online FPS game named "Alliance of Valiant Arms" or simply AVA was having INSAS Excalibur in it as a firearm but seems that game has been shut down due to lack of players, though some guys on internet citing it is still playable in China

Another one from same event. Bottom right corner, new version of TAR with new furniture and full length 1913 rails.
Note the barely visible butt of some rifle left corner.

Interesting looking butt , the sight visible is trinetra sight isn't it ?

The butt of the rifle in hand of ninda turtle is similar to Insas folding stock.

I can't see the butt, but the rifle on bottom left corner is OFB AR2. That handguard is rather distinct.

Also though the picture is grainy, but on second look, this variant of TAR appears to be short barrelled with shorter gas tube and overall shorter barrel length. Too early to say definitely.
