India's military cooperation with U.S. not harmful to cooperation with Russia - diplomat

The renewal of a military and technological cooperation agreement between India and the United States will not have a negative impact on cooperation between Delhi and Moscow in this sphere, Indian Ambassador to Russia Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan said.

"Our military-technical cooperation is intensive and multi-faceted and is not impacted by other bilateral relationships," Raghavan said in an interview with Interfax.

"The relations between India and Russia have always been characterized by long-standing friendship and mutual trust. Russia is an important strategic partner of India and will remain so," he said.

Simply unfortunate. Still Indian leadership can't make its mind.

The same Russia first offered PAK-FA to China. When they refused, that offer came to India.

Still it is not enough for Indian leadership to understand it.

Very disappointing. That too with PM Modi's government.

Dont know who is responsible for FGFA delay. But the program is too big to fail.

Ideally India wishes to be able to tip a fine balance in between so as to cut good deals with both.

But that's not going to work. India is distancing itself from Russia with reduced binding ties. And the decline of Russia is inevitable.
